Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
i have some time now, I'll work on it :)
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
No hurry take your time, I am currently solving an issue in mine :)
just a couple more until v1.0
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
cool.. how is your project doing?
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
just added features that I need. It's only tests to complete
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
nice :)
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
You can use milestone in issue section, for your release
That's what I did
certain issues are linked to a milestone so you can monitor how many issues left
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
yup, I am just seeing yours.
Looking good.
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
Thanks. it's more organize this way
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
done :)
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
That was fast.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
haha :D .. yeah well most of the stuff was already there, just had to adapt the clipboard listener to a manual function call.
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron

Cool. In order for me to navigate through the ui controls for the test, I will need css id reference for each. If they all have one, then it's easy for to create test cases. My biggest hurdle at the moment, same with my project, is the file chooser for opening and saving file, since it is outside the scope. I am trying to figure it out at the moment.

I thought of creating our own file chooser that extends FileChooser so we can mark it with CSS ID.

Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Hm... I see.
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
For example to type into a textfield and click a button
clickOn("#aField").write("This a test.").clickOn("#aButton");
There's also the hard way were we hardcoded the mouse to move to certain coordinates and press whatever it stops to
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
yup, I understand the problem. Extending the filechooser could be a possibility but I am not completely sure that would work.
How would you reference the OK button of the windows that opens
not much informations on google either.
what if we just try to skip through the filechooser and just get the resulting path to the file ? I mean that's what we care about anyway. The chooser itself was already tested by Oracle :P
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
Yeah we can do, but how are we going to trigger after the chooser events, that means you have to refactor the method to a public method to call it manually in the test.
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
GUI test is quite tricky. I opened this problem with the author of TestFX and he said that they have yet to incorporate it.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Hey guys. I think that once these last three issues are done and testing is complete we can release v1.0
I'll add a milestone on github. This week I'll work on #6 . It's not a lot but I'm preparing a hard exam at university so don't have lot of time.
Ashkan K
@ashkan25
That's awesome to hear. I had some free time and I tried it for the first time today. Works great!
Got some suggestions that I will give hopefully next week.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
great, looking forward to it :) . Open issues on github we can discuss them there :)
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Hey guys, I just opened #10 it seems like an easy feature to implement if anyone is up to it I'd be glad.
Should be along the lines of 2 simple functions getYoutubeId(String youtubeUrl) , getYoutubeThumbnail(String id) . Should be simple enough (check the issue I explained how to get the thumb)
these two functions have nothing to do with the pad itself, you can do them even without thinking about the whole program. :) If anyone is up to it let me know.. shouldn't take you too much time.
Alazar Zewde
@alazarz
Hey all,
I may have some free time to take care of that tomorrow night! I'll let you know soon
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
hi there. Great :)
Ryan Gilera
@Daytron
Guys
I just discovered waffle IO, it's a great project issue management. You can link it with the project repo.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Hey guys, just wanted to say that I've been quite busy with my university exams and didn't have too much time. Anyhow, I'm planning on releasing v 1.0 and I thought to put on the v1.0 deadline for 31 of december. I'll be pretty busy until the 20th but after that I have lot of spare time and will put the effort to finish and polish everything up.
Ashkan K
@ashkan25
Is there something wrong with the project? I downloaded a new version today and I get an error when trying to import com.google.gson.*
Ashkan K
@ashkan25
woops, problem was on my end. Never mind
Ashkan K
@ashkan25
How do you give an issue a label? Seems like only the project owner can label them.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
yup
I'll add you as a contributor so you can too
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
collaborator*
you should be able to label the issues now.
Ashkan K
@ashkan25
Thanks.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Hey guys, I cleared most of the issues. I will be testing the program and release v1.0 within a few days it if no breaking bugs are found.
Andrea Capuano
@arocketman
Released! Thank you all for the support and help guys . Really appreciated.
