@bsipocz - I've added a preliminary set of instructions to the README.md file: https://github.com/astropy/ci-helpers/blob/master/README.md

At some point in the future I think we could try and make the AppVeyor one recognize all the same variables as for Travis, but let's not worry for now, it's more important to get it working with existing packages: astropy/ci-helpers#5

@astrofrog - Could you please restart the latest appveyor build for astropy? I didn't realized that the push to ci-helpers didn't go through, so the test started on the old version
also do you know a way to skip just travis? Or cancelling it is easier for now? (discovery of yesterday: I can cancel my own builds)

Not sure how to skip just travis
Will restart appveyor now
Actually it seems to be running a new build since you put that message
so will leave it
@bsipocz - can you create an account on appveyor? Then I can add you so you have control over the builds.

@astrofrog - I've linked my github, so it's bsipocz.
Anyway there was one dependency error in there, so fixing that restarted the build :)
Now it should really work

@bsipocz - appveyor asks me for an email address to add a user - is it your gmail address?
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 13:53
yes, it's with b.sipocz

btw it looks like the appveyor 3.4 build crashed
maybe worth restarting
you can try out your new superpowers
you want 'new build', not 're-build PR' I think
I can never tell but I think ironically new build restarts the build, re-build makes a new one
Back a bit later :airplane:

am I looking for buttons?

@astrofrog
Nov 12 2015 13:58
yes on the build page
but just realized
you need to log out and log back in and select to log in as astropy
not as your user
it's a bit annoying
Once you do that and go to https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Astropy/astropy/build/1.0.2790 you should see:

Nov 12 2015 14:00
it's annoying when I have to switch between glue and astropy
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 14:01
ok, done
it's a bit annoying system, almost hit new build when the new merge appeared, so it affected that one first.
Thomas Robitaille
@astrofrog
Nov 12 2015 14:01
Huh it seems to be building different commits
I think it's doing a build of the latest master commit
weird
did you hit 're-build PR' or 'new build'?
just cuirous, I always forget
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 14:02
I definitely hit the new build on my branch
Thomas Robitaille
@astrofrog
Nov 12 2015 14:03
ah it's there now
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 14:03
yes, that was re-build pr
Thomas Robitaille
@astrofrog
Nov 12 2015 14:03
ok so I got it wrong
sorry!
you can always cancel the other builds here:
hover near the right of a build and a cancel button appears
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 14:04
OK, so the duplication is cancelled now
Thomas Robitaille
@astrofrog
Nov 12 2015 14:05
Ok, if you want you can actually cancel both, I think neither are needed
it's already been tested before
off now, back later, but if everything works, feel free to email the list
Brigitta Sipocz
@bsipocz
Nov 12 2015 14:06
