    yeah
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    interesting.
    OK, then while we investigate, why don't you have a look over the latest MAST pull request? Since that was your original idea, it would be a useful learning experience for you to help with the review of that PR
    (there probably isn't much to say, but engaging in the review will be helpful to both you and us)
    Ayush Yadav
    @AyushYadav
    Seems like that. You can try this in your browser as well by disallowing noao website to set cookies and then when you go to the /list_resources it will throw a Application Error
    Sure. That sounds good to me. I will get to it now. Meanwhile let me know if you feel there is something that can make this work. I was looking at Selenium, its a python package which can stimulate headless browser and can give us the total feel and work of a browser without even opening one.
    If you want I can try to see if that can work for noao

    @keflavich
    I don't know if it's worth using a synthetic browser; in the end we need whatever we write to work with only http requests
    Ayush Yadav
    @AyushYadav
    Sure. I am going through the discussion on the PR for MAST right now.
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    ok, good
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    @AyushYadav I think I've solved it
    Ayush Yadav
    @AyushYadav
    Yeah, This works !
    How did you figure out these four parameters?
    @keflavich
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    guess and check.
    just kept looking at the network logs until I figured it out
    each of those 'get' requests is made when you load the original 'query' page
    it helped to run from an incognito tab, since that hid other cookies

    bsipocz @keflavich - impressive detective work, I'm glad to see that this got figured out
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    it's a very weird interface
    but, hey, whatever works...
    Ayush Yadav
    @AyushYadav
    @keflavich I'll be implementing a normal conesearch(position and radius) and objectbased conesearch (object and radius) with some basic functionality that allows users to select and download the files they want to download.
    This I think can be a first step towards it. And this I will try to submit in next few days, I have a small exam on 10th June so I am a bit busy tomorrow with that but I think I will have something ready and pushed before the Tuesday's connect
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    Alright, that's the right first step.
    Could you open a WIP PR before the weekend, though?
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    bsipocz I agree with @keflavich, even a WIP PR that has pseudo code and nothing working in it yet would be great.
    Ayush Yadav
    @AyushYadav
    Sure. You will have a pseudo and maybe basics in next 24-36 hours.

    Hello, gurus. I have a commit with working unit tests. As soon as a pull the astroquery master I get the following error with the python setup.py test command:
    ImportError while loading conftest '/private/var/folders/np/4j1917_521ldy0q8j0852jdr0000gn/T/astroquery-test-yvti98oi/lib/python3.5/site-packages/astroquery/conftest.py'. astroquery/conftest.py:59: in <module> from .version import version, astropy_helpers_version E ImportError: cannot import name 'astropy_helpers_version'
    Does anyone know the quick fix? Thanks
    Sampark Sharma
    @Phantsure
    @keflavich would you push me in the right direction, I am interested in Add additional archives to astroquery project (kind of) but unable to understand where to start as. I have knowledge about web scraping(have done some projects) but dont know how to replicate it here. I am interested in anything space so can study a lot on it if required. would be grateful if you help.
    or anyone else
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    look through the issues page on astroquery's github page
    look at the New Service tag and look for un-implemented services
    Sampark Sharma
    @Phantsure
    how to implement is the question. i mean it is written to access the given archives but where are the archives as those are links to websites
    take for example aavso
    Adam Ginsburg
    @keflavich
    the links are the archives
    our job is to figure out how to get data from whatever is provided at those links
    in general, there are usually no APIs to go from
    Sampark Sharma
    @Phantsure
    oh, thanks
    Sampark Sharma
    @Phantsure
    if just like astroquery/nrao does to store data in form of a table (object), i make for chandra would that be all or is there some thing more to it?
