Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
i can imagine we could include some hover information, perhaps by turning on a preference

How do you disable autocomplete+? Or at least the "show suggestions" feature? It is far too buggy and slow in version 1.0.
Stephan Taylor
@stephantaylor
NVM. It's loaded as a package. :-)
Pascal
@pascalpp
pretty much everything is a package
now i'm curious what Atom looks like if you disable ALL packages, including all the core packages :)
daptordarattler
@daptordarattler
is there an autocomplete for java and groovy?
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
@stephantaylor It would be helpful if you could quantify specific issues or expectations you have around behavior. As described above, there's nothing actionable that we can do to make your experience better. What packages do you / did you have installed and active when you ran into your performance issues?
svenkatasubram
@svenkatasubram
how can i check what is the line that is being returned from editor.getText()? console.log(line) does not seem to work.
anything that i log within getSuggestions() is not getting displayed.
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
please move to slack: http://atom-slack.herokuapp.com/
go to the #autocomplete-plus channel once there
svenkatasubram
@svenkatasubram
thanks

Does anyone know if it's possible to add a delay before autocomplete prompts? I keep accidentally getting the top result when I hit return.
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
Yes, there is a delay in the config - set to 100ms by default
You can also change the keybindings so that enter is not Used to confirm suggestions (instead, just tab is, or you can configure another key)

@ben-eb
hello :) does anyone know of a good room to discuss atom in?
Matt Mischuk
@mattmischuk
quoting the comment above this one... "Head over to slack for more discussion: http://atom-slack.herokuapp.com/"
Ben Briggs
@ben-eb
thanks :)

@n370
stylus support?
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
hey @joefitzgerald my autocomplete isn't working but otherwise it looks like go-plus is working, autocomplete-plus is activated, and i get a suggestion after 1 keystroke but nothing for more keystrokes and cmd+space doesnt seem to do anything
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
Hmm
Waft version of go?
Can you paste the output from Packages > Go Plus > Display Go Information?
@wheaton5 ^
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
Go: go1.4.2 darwin/amd64 (@/usr/local/go/bin/go)

Godef Tool: Not Found
Gocode Status: Enabled

Atom: 1.0.3 (darwin x64 13.4.0)
ooh, i might have an idea now all of a sudden, that gocode is on a linux computer that is remotely mounted in my "mount" directory, ill try pointing it at a local gocode?
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
Yes that sounds like a good idea!
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
how do i set that? its not in the settings for go-plus
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
Via your path
Relaunch atom from terminal once you've made the change
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
which env variable?
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
PATH
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
uh, go-plus is still pointing to the same gocode as before
haynes-mba:bin haynes$ echo $PATH
/Users/haynes/golib/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/X11/bin:/usr/texbin:/usr/local/Cellar/go/1.3.3/bin/
but after restarting atom
Gocode Tool: /Users/haynes/mount/src/versions/realign/realigner/go/bin/gocode
my GOPATH is /Users/haynes/mount/src/versions/realign/realigner/go so maybe it looks there first?
i can remove that gocode
oh, weird, also atom is not using the path from that terminal PATH: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/X11/bin:/usr/local/go/bin:/usr/texbin:/usr/local/Cellar/go/1.3.3/bin/
Haynes Heaton
@wheaton5
ah, it didnt really quit
cool, its working now
working for standard libraries, but for my code base specific stuff, i tried doing gotags but am not seeing auto completes for that stuff
Patrick Lienau
@rozzzly
hey!
does anyone know of a good place to share/find others atom configurations? I'm tired of Web/PHPStorm, and atom is amazing.. but its taking me a long time to get all my plugins/etc setup to the point where I can actually use it to its fullest capacity
Jiri Spac
@capaj
@rozzzly I use https://www.reddit.com/r/atom/ but other than that there is nothing. I wanted to create atom-profiles where anyone could share his config and list of installed plugins, but I haven't got around to do it yet
Nejc Vukovic
@nvwebd
anyone having problems when using german mac keyboards?
Joe Fitzgerald
@joefitzgerald
@nVVEBd yes, see atom/autocomplete-plus#76
Nejc Vukovic
@nvwebd
anybody know if there’s a package for atom that show the value of a variable?
