only other bit of info I can seem to find is that the id is -132 when passed to Serializer::readById

i can probably find what that is
@cwolfinger the only real mechanism now is the snapshot and logs that are written to disk. Technically, those are the server state. But I've seen some discussion on the Raft forums about a different use case wherein you write the state to a separate file, delete the logs, and start a new server from that state. Nothing like that is implemented in Copycat/Atomix

Think I figured out why I was getting those errors now. I was bootstrapping a ResourceServer rather than an AtomixReplica

So I'm trying to bootstrap a replica on localhost:8700 and it never seems to complete, any reason why?
hm, odd, deleted the files that were generated and now it's working all of a sudden o.o

I suppose it depends on what generated those files in the first place, e.g. if the server was originally configured with multiple members in the cluster then a single server can't start by itself on that configuration

Ok, makes sense. I have another problem that I can't figure out. So from what I understand this (AtomixConnector.getConnection().getGroup("server").join()) should be creating a group if it doesn't exists, but nothing happens. I'm calling this when completing the client connecting, as far as I can tell no errors were thrown and the connection was established.

why is it that it continues to block infinitely when doing .join() but appears to complete when doing whenComplete()?
