The problem with a gossip protocol is you’d probably have to gossip the entire map. I’m not sure you can really gossip individual changes in entries since the state of the map is dependent on the order of the changes. So, it may not in practice be much cheaper (depending on the size of the map) to use a gossip protocol if you have to disseminate the entire map. Clients feching the entire map once and then updating it locally via singular events may be as or more efficient.

@kuujo I have added an issue to track my request for a direct messaging option while the recipient is in a crashed/failed state. Please let me know if I can do anything to help with regards to that.

I’ve released Catalyst and am releasing Copycat 1.2.0 right now. I may wait until the morning for Atomix, though.

@kuujo and @thiagoss, What about atomix/copycat#260? It seems like this could still be an issue

How do I adjust SessionTimeout for AtomixClient? I can see how to do it in CopycatClient. I'm guessing I may have to subclass ResourceClient.Builder, but I'm wondering if there is an easier way.

Great news on the release!
@jhall11 I've been using my patch in my work for 2 weeks now. No other problems noticed so far but I'm not sure this is the best solution
I imagine a bugfix release can be done once we settle on how to solve that issue
