Hey all, I'm pretty new to all of this HA stuff but I'm already hooked. I'm working on setting up haaska, and I am at the point where I am supposed to test my lamda function and it throws an error saying there is no index file in the zip I uploaded from the make. I double checked I wasn't somehow uploading a folder of a folder like Google/Stack Overflow searches told me to do, but i'm not sure where the issue is as the make ran successfully. Anyone else run into this?
hey gang, i posted to the main HA room, but thought I'd try here too
@Laz3rPanth3r_twitter i think i'm getting close to getting haaska to work, but the device discovery is failing make test locally returns this: http://hastebin.com/ogujenotuz.cpp and I get a success when testing from lambda, except it gives me Discovery failed: 'friendly name'
oops, just At'd myself lol
i did also discover you need to create a group and assign lambda roles to the haaska user in IAM though for it to work, i don't recall seeing that part in docs but I may have missed it
Just went through Readme and got all the way through lambda testing. Test was successful but when I try to add the skill via Alexa app it errors out that it can't reach remote service. Triple checked it was on the right AWS server. Any advice to trouble shoot?
i used my lets encrypt cert.pem and named as cert.crt
got it going using root CA cert
i am having trouble i have tried just about everything but lambda keeps saying it has timed out after 55s... i have ran differnt test and still nothing
hmm, something is not working now
the device is not responding
Quick question. Is there a way to make sure that when a group of lights is turned on, it is turned on with a certain brightness/color? Kind of like a scene, except the tricky part is that I want to integrate this with haaska. I want to say "Alexa, turn on the couch lights" or "Alexa, turn off the couch lights". And since I can't turn off scenes with haaska, I'm baffled on how to pull this off. Ideas?
I use a group to do that. I usually don't use scenes at all because they require something like, Alexa turn on Whatever Scene
so use a group and you can just say the name of whatever it is
@devdelay That's where I started, except I'm using Phillips Hue lights. So if the light was in a different color or dull brightness, it would come back on in that state instead of the default brightness/color. Does that make sense?
I don't know I don't have Phillips Hue
Max retries exceeded with url: /api/states (Caused by NewConnectionError('<requests.packages.urllib3.connection.VerifiedHTTPSConnection object at 0x7fe0cc938f10>: Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 111] Connection refused',))"
This used to work. the only difference between then and now (if I remember correctly) is me updating HA to the latest version (0.22)
perhaps my let's encrypt certificate has expired.

Hello, Im using haaska now and any lights I turned on through it only stay on for a period of time and then turn off. However if I turn them on via HA or the switch they stay on. Any ideas?
For some reason, I am hung up at "Check "Enable event source"" further more the basic execution role isnt there for me... I hate feeling like a noob.
Hi... anyone around for a quick hand?
hey anyone around
Quick question whenever anyone can get around to it: I've been getting the "var/task/requests/packages/urllib3/connectionpool.py:821: InsecureRequestWarning: Unverified HTTPS request is being made. Adding certificate verification is strongly advised. See: https://urllib3.readthedocs.org/en/latest/security.html InsecureRequestWarning) Discovery failed: No JSON object could be decoded". I am using duck DNS and Letsencrypt. I have used https://myaddress.duckdns.org/api. I've tried without the API. I've tried with my actually IP address with the /api and without. Still gettign the same error. Any other suggestions?
I made a change and actually included the :443 port at the end but now I'm getting a "Max retries exceeded with url: /states (Caused by NewConnectionError('<requests.packages.urllib3.connection.VerifiedHTTPSConnection object at 0x7fb34672af10>: Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 111] Connection refused',))" error
i just ask since i dont see cover in the allowed entities
hmm ... so, what is the trick to get covers to respond to "OPEN / CLOSE" instead of "TURN ON / TURN OFF"?? Can't seem to figure that out using the simple smart home skill api ... any pointers? @auchter@brusc
hmm, how can i get sauna's temperature to show up in hass, its not the most electronics friendly area
with no outlets nearby, high temperature and humidity
