Stuart Bloom
@stuart_bloom_twitter
thank you so very much

@Simskii
I'm using webpack but i'm unable to include a plugin in my aurelia project.
i've included it in my webpack config.
plugins: [ new AureliaPlugin({ includeAll: "src", includeSubModules: [ { moduleId: 'aurelia-animator-css' }, ] }),
Still when i aurelia.use.plugin('aurelia-animator-css');
I get Error: Unable to find module with ID: aurelia-animator-css
Why am i doing wrong?

No problem @stuart_bloom_twitter ;)

@metamaker wow, that's f'ed -- you must be pretty happy to see the backside of that one !
@funkybob autocomplete widget -- did you get what you needed? which one did you end up with?

Big News. Microsoft has acquired Google

Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
@metamaker Have you found a way to hide the display of [object promise] while waiting for the promise? Only thing I can think of would be wrapping the value and hiding it until the promise completes. Really hope aurelia deals with this itself eventually.
Jannis
@1Jajen1
@jpeffer you can always write your own binding mode like this: http://www.sobell.net/aurelia-async-bindings/ that is also what he posted earlier
Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
@1Jajen1 Yea that is what I was actually responding to. That solution keeps [object promise] visible until the promise completes... if I'm understanding it correctly.
Jannis
@1Jajen1
@jpeffer it also lets you specify a placeholder which can be empty afaik
and it keeps it empty if there is no placeholder message specified
or better it does not update if there is no placeholder message and waits for the promise to resolve
Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
@1Jajen1 I see an optional message being displayed under [object promise], but no placeholder. Might just have to try it and see how it works.
Jannis
@1Jajen1
@jpeffer in his example you can see 3 bindings: First one is default [object promise], second one is empty because its not updated and has no placeholder and the third one has a placeholder "Thinking..."
if you want it empty at all times if it is loading then use a an empty string placeholder, but if you want it to only update if the value is there use no placeholder
Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
@1Jajen1 Ahh, I see, thanks!

Has anyone had an issue getting e2e tests working with aurelia-dialog? When I try to interact with the dialog I get Element (button input) is not clickable at point (x, y).
Patrick Walters
@PWKad
@donald-slagle that means the animation probably hasn't finished yet I'm not sure the best approach but I've been sleeping during that animation
donald-slagle
@donald-slagle
@PWKad I did have a wait added that waits for the presence of an element in the modal. I also added a 2 second wait after the button that opens the dialog is clicked but I'm still getting the error.

@Kukks @cb-fred have you heard anything on the uglify problem?
CasiOo
@CasiOo
@djedi The reason you in situations would want to use replace-part over <slot> is it allows for dynamic content. Slots cannot be added ore removed dynamically, so you can't place an if binding on a slot, but you can on a replace-part.
In most cases <slot> is cleaner and follows the Shadow dom standard, so use it if you can
I don't think you are able to define a default replace-part in a template
Replaceable parts only got implemented because of limitations in the Shadow DOM slots spec.
Dustin Davis
@djedi
@CasiOo Thanks for the information. I'll update my blog post.

@djedi

@CasiOo
It seems to work in my example https://gist.run/?id=99cbbab4a0af26dbf10cfb7d4650fe98

I don't think you are able to define a default replace-part in a template

Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
Is there a way to use server-side templates? I'd like to build aurelia templates server-side and update portions of the screen with them based on the route
CasiOo
@CasiOo
@djedi You aren't having one replaceable being the default here? You still have to tell it which part to replace

Is there any reason why the watch functionality does not work on the skeleton project (ESNext with ASP.Net Core) - I've switched from using VS to VS Code, so running dotnet run and gulp watch.. but the browser doesnt refresh upon any changes where as it did in VS.
Tomáš Bončo
@tomasbonco
Hey! Is there any way how to get to HTML elements after they are copied from #document-fragment, right before they are processed and placed into DOM?
Tim Huffam
@THuffam
Is there anyother community or way of collaborating for Aurelia help - I find Gitter incredbily ineffective - poor search, the lack of threading - and the need for double posting (due to the previous 2 points)- hence the noise. Does anyone else have the same experience or am I just using it wrong.
Dmytro Yurchenko
@metamaker
@THuffam Same feeling here. Stackoverflow aurelia's thread is dead, imho.
@jpeffer Nope, see aurelia/framework#72. Try enhance functionality instead.

@tbnovaes
does someone knows how to do a sidebar component like the one from aurelia.io/hub?
Tomáš Bončo
@tomasbonco
@tbnovaes where's the problem?

@tbnovaes
I’m trying to do a sidebar component, like the one in aurelia.io/hub, and was wondering if someone has a good start.
Jonathan Peffer
@jpeffer
@metamaker Thanks, overlooked this in the docs!
gseccles
@gseccles
Has anyone here built a web service in Aurelia that uses a Python back end?
pyjpenny
@pyjpenny
@gseccles nothing special about it. Using pyramid as backend currently
Tomáš Bončo
@tomasbonco
@tbnovaes I already wrote you .. where's your problem? :D
or what part seems difficult?
tbnovaes
@tbnovaes
@tomasbonco the sliding
i could figure how to create the sidebar, but can not figuree the sliding part
gseccles
@gseccles
@pyjpenny I'm trying to decide on a back end. It looks to me like a lot of the popular Python frameworks aren't really designed to function as just a back end. Tornado is the obvious exception to that; is that why you picked tornado?
