I have done extensive testing with the latest version of AWS CLI on Windows Server 2012R2 against a custom S3 endoint and I discovered that the Windows Installer version which uses Python 2.7 is approx 30% slower than AWS CLI if installed via Python 3.6. This seems to be due to much better multithreading in Python 3. Did someone else encounter this? Why does the AWS CLI Installer uses Python 2.7?

I have opened aws/aws-cli#2514 to track this

Yeah, we’d really like to move it over (though more for unicode enhancements than anything else). We just haven’t been able to get to it yet.

Ah ok. Then maybe you can see the multithreading improvement as one more reason to do it ;-)

Hey guys I'm just starting to use Rekognition and trying to run an example I found, is this the right place to ask for help or is it another chat room?

You can ask here, but this is more for the CLI itself rather than a specific service. There may or may not be anybody here with the expertise / experience to answer all your questions.
StackOverflow might be better if you have a specific question about using the service.
