Hey there. I am struggling to get the S3 Canonical ID of an IAM user using the Go SDK.

Despite creating an S3 client with hardcoded access ID/Secret values of the IAM user in question, the ID I am receiving from the API is the one used to create the IAM user in the first place. For example, my current project creates a new IAM user, creates a new Access Key for that user, and then lists that user's buckets using the new Access Key in order to receive the ListBucketsOutput.Owner.ID. The issue here is that the ID returned is the one used to create the IAM user in the first place despite triple-checking that I am using a completely new client/session.

Anyone know what may be happening here?

Hi there. I'm attempting to download some files from S3 (using the Golang SDK), and while the downloads are occurring to process these bytes concurrently. For example, I know the files to be zipped (via gzip) and I understand the format of the underlying files for processing purposes as well. My questions are: is it concurrently safe to call Bytes() on the WriteAtBuffer? Does invoking this clear the buffer of those bytes, such that subsequent calls to WriteAt do not fail? And: Is this the typical method by which one concurrently drains the buffer while writing to it? Note that the process of reading from the buffer (e.g., the calls to Bytes() shall be performed in a separate Goroutine). Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm trying to import SSL certificate using ACM sdk Go. I'm getting error "The certificate field contains more than one certificate. You can specify only one certificate in this field." If I'm importing same certificate using aws ui console, everything works just fine. What I could possibly be doing wrong.

is service/ec2/api.go auto generated? I see 6 contributors the PR I was about to open has a warning For changes to files under the/model/folder, and manual edits to autogenerated code (e.g./service/s3/api.go) please create an Issue instead of a PR for those type of changes how is this done src/github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/models/apis/ec2/2016-11-15/docs-2.json

Is there a simple way where I could execute an athena query from go lang and instead of getting the query id, I want the results directly.
I read a couple of articles, but all of them first execute the query to get id, and then use query id to get results. Is there a way to have these two steps at once only.

What can i do to DeleteObjects method as it take arguments of DeleteObjectsInput struct type but how to delar that struct i don't know and which variable in that struct is for what that also i don't know
Cristian Măgherușan-Stanciu
@cristim
The documentation contains a pretty good example https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/service/s3/#S3.DeleteObject

@PrasanjitPj17_gitlab
@cristim i want to use the DeleteObjects not DeleteObject that is working fine for a single object
Cristian Măgherușan-Stanciu

Have a look at the documentation of DeleteObjects, there are similar examples as well

I want to delete a directory from S3 that i uploaded so what should i use ?
Prasanjit Pattanaik
@PrasanjitPj17_gitlab

I am trying to delete a total directory from S3 that i uploaded to S3 and i want to delete it by using the Golang SDK , But not able to do that , i am able to delete the files present in the Directory in S3 but not that total Directory using the Golang SDK i need an example on it.

Example i uploaded a Directory test inside that there is one folder test.txt i am able to delete the test.txt file from S3 by using golang SDK but not able to delete the total Directory test from S3 using the Golang SDK DeleteObjects or DeleteObject

Cristian Măgherușan-Stanciu
@cristim
S3 is not a filesysyem, directories are just a UI thing, S3 is just a key/value blob store. You will need to list all objects with the common "Directory" path then delete the objects one by one
You can generate the input of DeleteObjects from the output of the list operation

Is it just me or is https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/service/ecr/#CreateRepositoryInput missing ImageScanningConfiguration. I also don't see type ImageScanningConfiguration for setting ScanOnPush. Have the online docs just not been updated yet?

For a golang lambda triggering off of a kinesis stream with x-ray tracing enabled, what's the recommended way to access the root x-ray TraceID (e.g., for correlating logs)?
Simon Woldemichael
@swoldemi
@omerh you can set it in type PutImageScanningConfigurationInput https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/blob/master/service/ecr/api.go#L6041 with func PutImageScanningConfiguration https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/blob/master/service/ecr/api.go#L2242

Hey guys, i just got to know that we can get a event when we're about to lose our spot instances, a two minute window is given to manage our instances.
Can someone help me about how can we capture that event?

In AutoSpotting I'm using a Cloudwatch event rule in order to handle this, you can have a look at https://github.com/AutoSpotting/AutoSpotting
