Hey guys, anyone facing problems when trying to update to 0.17.0 on RPM-based distros?
It asks for docker-engine but on RPM-based its only docker

I think there's some problem with the entry point @gullitmiranda. Just went to the shell and got this. Something awry I think.

Alright yeah. Just done the whole thing manually and it works fine. So something to do with the import is messing with it, not sure what.
Also just discovered that doing azk status from inside my deploy shell is showing the raw domain name and not my HOST_DOMAIN so guessing that's the problem :)

@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 14:56
taichi? nice
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 14:56
its working apart from the domain name isnt working on the production server, and the javascript isnt working
which i think is due to it running in dev move for some reason not sure why
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 14:57
but if remove the postgres deps and other, the rails itself is working?
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 14:57
yeah you into it? starting a site the sort of live one is here https://taichi-school.herokuapp.com/
erm
yes and in fact the postgres can crash and the site still loads the things which dont pull from the db
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 14:58
it takes a lifetime to provision the rails
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:00
not for me really like a min or 2
prob less
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 15:09
@kimadactyl do you know why do not work adding the HTTP_PORT to the ends schema?
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:10
nope :)
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 15:10

im about 3 days ahead of you in here haha
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 15:19
tried to define in export_envs but nothing too
weird is that the image has the env on printenv
something is wrong with the $HTTP port, is not beign interpreted by the block
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:20
yes. some of them are working others not
i gave up on the port thing and manually specified it ages ago, heh
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 15:20
on command?
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:20
not sure
Lucas Gertel
@lgertel
Mar 30 2016 15:20
the problem is that my architecture is complex
at least 8 containers
each one with port rules
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:21
ouch.
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:22
@kimadactyl run:
$ azk deploy ssh
env | grep HOST
@lgertel sorry for delay
run, with azk agent started:
$ ping -c 4 dev.azk.io
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:24
oh god i installed LAMP to fix someone elses problem and now getting a clash i think :/
azk: The 80 port configured for the `balancer` service is not available.
epic eyeroll
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:26
@lgertel from what I saw of the conversation can be one (or more) of the following issues:
  1. dns-resolver
  2. wait timeout
  3. you use PORT instead of HTTP_PORT in puma
@kimadactyl you are trying to start two applications on port 80 on the network of docker:
$ adocker ps
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:36
its np will just stop apache for now, done on that today :)
git@taichi-school-azk:~$ env | grep HOST
HOST_DOMAIN=
HOST_IP=188.166.147.183
its weird it is loading it... but blank
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:39
ok =D
about HOST_DOMAIN, I think that you will need to run a azk deploy full, to update envs in remote server.
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:46
kk
cool that did the trick :) does it only get initialised on first deploy?
still no luck on the domain but at least the azk status table looks right now
or do i need to dosome kind of hard restart to update that?
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:52
run:
$ azk deploy ssh
env | grep HOST
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:52
git@taichi-school-azk:~$ env | grep HOST
HOST_DOMAIN=beta.taichi.school
HOST_IP=188.166.147.183
looks good
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:53
azukiapp/docker-deploy#21
ok, maybe your application does not have changes, not restarted
try, manual restart system in server
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:54
whats the best restart command to use? feels like theres a few :)
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:55
the azk deploy restart should work
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 15:55
ok
i did restart on the remote directly
i guess that does exactly the same?
yeah no luck
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 15:57
whats result of azk status in remote server?
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl

Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:01
hmmm ok maybe
next problem, its loading in development mode
oh wait ok the command line http req is working :) i didnt know that command cool
oohhhhh its redirecting to https
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:06
httpie is very cool =D
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:06
i guess i have to have RAILS_ENV: "production" in my deploy envs as well?
ooooh just discovered chrome://net-internals/#dns also :)
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:10
I knew not, cool
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:15
hmmmmm not working still how do i get puma to start in production on remote
weirdd
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:17
to puma work, you just need to configure it to use the HTTP_PORT and the bidding (0.0.0.0)
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:18
its working, its just loading in development mode on the remote not produciton
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:22
ok
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:22
should i be doing bundle exec rails or bundle exec puma? or does it not matter
they both seem to launch puma
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:27
hmmmm
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:28
yes, bundle exec <server start command>
if I am not mistaken the puma replaces the rails server
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:29
i think they accept slightly differnet command line options hmm
do i need a seperate puma config file? honestly no idea what im doing with that stuff, heh
weird, with -e production on the command its starting in production on the remote now but not locally
still getting redirected from http -> https
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:34
you can separate by envs or have different systems in your Azkfile
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:35
is my main system the development one basically? and then i use the env part to override optionsfor that environment?starting to make sense if thats so
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:37
like this:
  deploy: {
    envs: {
      ENV_FILE                 : ".env.prod",
      AZK_RESTART_COMMAND : "azk restart postgres && azk restart prod -R -vvvv",
    },
  },

  /* PRODUCTION */
  prod: {
    extends: "app",
    scalable: {"default": 0, "limit": 0},
    envs: {
      MIX_ENV    : "prod",
      HOST       : host,
      HOST_DOMAIN: host,
      TERM       : "linux",
    },
  },
yes =D
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:38
oh god haha
my head
so in this case i set all the defaults in my main taichi-school then override them all individually and have a seperate system called "prod"? sounds confusing :D
is there a good tutorial on envs anywhere?
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:46
yes. you use the system default (app) as development, then replace what is needed at the prod
unfortunately not (yet).
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:46
but isnt my deploy the production environemnt? or am i thinking about this wrong
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:46
great :)
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:47
you disabled redirect?
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:47
man my head is about to explode hah too many options
config.force_ssl = false ?
Gullit Miranda
@gullitmiranda
Mar 30 2016 16:47
sorry sorry for complicating :(
yes
Dr Kim Foale
@kimadactyl
Mar 30 2016 16:48
yes np. altho thats only on produciton whcih makes me think maybe something is still set to dev on deploy
ah

when you back, it checks to see if your configuration is so
