    Hi. Is Babun alive? It has no commits for 3 years. Is it ok to use?
    Stephan
    @r4d1um
    @serii833 good Question

    @serii833 @r4d1um official github repo was updated recently : "PROJECT DISCONTINUED"
    I'm looking for alternative to work with git as windows or windows/linux users having to use git on their windows computer .... (maybe the sort of linux integrated by windows 10... WSL ???)
    the other git-bash and free adaptation seems lighter...

    Currently I'm using customized and outdated msysgit. Don't remember what issues I had with newer versions. Recently I've discovered Swan console.
    serii833
    @serii833
    Swan console looks good. But I didn't solve all my customizations yet. And terminal seems to be laggy.
    serii833
    @serii833
    Maybe some problems with my system

    any link/démo ?
    dcpc007
    @dcpc007
    bof .. seems like a basic default cygwin with nothing preconfigured, espacially for git.
    And it's already slow at start ... and find zero doc on the product and how to use ....
    => Exit swan

    @dcpc007 what git features are you looking for?
    Stephan
    @r4d1um
    @dcpc007 sadly that’s true...
    Starlight seems to be interesting, last Commit was back in 2017...

    babun was already configured with a git customised + oh-my-zsh already working git prompt and set of aliases

    @xymox12
    Big downside after a time was babun uses 32-bit cygwin, which caused memory problems when running composer(php). I moved to https://github.com/vegardit/cygwin-portable-installer - I modified the config to stop bash-funk loading (I don't need it), and I could of installed zsh via the config but I did it manually after the first run ($apt-cyg install zsh), installed oh-my-zsh, and copied the babun oh-my-zsh theme to the new .oh-my-zsh/custom .

    @dcpc007

    some updates for me : stopping using babun as not maintained.
    For alternatives, no real solutions for using git in command line on Windows like on Linux currently...
    I try convince users to use linux for git operations but few linux available here.

    For small changes, i tested Gitlab WebIDE with a great success

    Next, i'll try the windows 10 WSL (linux pod inside the windows), should be better with WSL2 and a real linux kernel inside (and not a some of port of it like currently)
    Still problems with compatibility sometimes between linux and windows when user works on both sides, and often, GUI or windows tools offers only a subset of git commands, and then a "misusage" of git, like never use git rebase -i to clean history before push ...

    i would have more try on GitKraken, but i find it really expensive currently for enterprise when it's not a core fundamental need...
    sigmap
    @sigmap
    @dcpc007 why not try cygwin? There's a tool to install packages apt-cyg that works like babun's version of pact.
    And you could install oh-my-zsh or oh-my-bash, and git and it'd work just as fine.

    question, does babun apply a different set of keybinds to tmux? I've noticed that when I press end or home either I get a beep or a tilde is entered instead of going to the end or start of a line. This persists with new installs. This doesn't happen in cygwin or linux environments where I also use tmux. Possible fix?
