Can anyone point me to a tutorial or some docs on how to get BackBee working on a shared hosting provider? The BlogBee tutorial is only for instal on a development machine. I have SSH access to my server, and have tried the current install path by simply commenting out the localhost check on the installer, but I still have problems.
Nicolas Dufreche
@ndufreche
@guategeek can you install composer, git and access to your apache/nginx vhost configuration on your server ? This is the minimal requirement to install BackBee currently, we haven’t distributed version for mutualised server.
Jeff McArthur
@guategeek
@ndufreche I have git and composer and ssh access, but not vhost. Thats a big crutch for BackBee if you want to compete with WP or other CMS's that are used on tons of web sites for small companies or organizations that can't afford a VPS or dedicated server. Hope this can be addressed at some point in the future, just from the web site BackBee looks very promising. Thanks for the info, have a great week :)

@ndufreche
@guategeek thank you for your interest into BackBee project. We know this problem but BackBee rewriting rules are a little more complecated than an Wordpress or other CMS. I know @mickaelandrieu it was working on a htaccess file but I don’t know if it has successfully solve this problem.

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my first installation. whenever i try to login it tries to load /rest/1/authentication which does not exist and returns a 404. Did i do something wrong?
Nicolas Dufreche
@ndufreche
Hello @Dobby120 did you configure correctly your web server (apache/nginx) by copy and paste the generated configuration in end of installation ?
If you use apache @Dobby120 , you mat have forgotten install url rewrite module.
Dobby120
@Dobby120
Thanks @ndufreche yeah i copied the generated vhost (apache). the site itself is loading fine but when enter my login credentials and hit enter it does not do anything (it tries to load this /rest/1/authentication in the background)
Nicolas Dufreche
@ndufreche
@Dobby120 did you install the demonstration website?
Dobby120
@Dobby120
@ndufreche Got it working now. seems i forgot mod_rewrite. Thanks for your help :) This cms looks very promising.

@ndufreche
No problem @Dobby120, have fun with BackBee :D

Hello, I wanted to have a BackBee try and installed the demo app succesfully... but I have a stupid issue I guess, I can't find any sign-in button anywhere.... did I miss something?
Alain Tiemblo
@ninsuo
lol, ok, i installed Backbee without the demo app, and seen right in the first page: To connect to the backend, please press CTRL + ALT + B
quite hidden shortcut when installing the demo guyz 8-)
Alain Tiemblo
@ninsuo
asks me always to login, with a large blank space at the top - whatever i login or not page is refreshed automatically
there are also other strange things, in my debug console i see that backbee requires 3 twig files (raw twig files)
apache log reports: Sat Aug 22 11:31:02 2015] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Exception\RuntimeException: You have requested a synthetic service ("bb_session"). The DIC does not know how to construct this service. in /Users/alain/Data/developpement/backbee/vendor/symfony/dependency-injection/ContainerBuilder.php on line 917, referer: http://my-wonderful-website.com/index.php

@ndufreche
Hello @ninsuo and welcome. This a really strange bug, try to clear backbee and navigator cache.
Alain Tiemblo
@ninsuo
thanks! Yeah... tried but still no luck
I'll try during the week, I guess my laptop don't want to see me working a sunny Sunday ;)

Hello there, i'm new around here so first thing i have to say is that BackBee looks really impressive
However, right now my website is on a shared webhosting plan. which means i don't have neither SSH access nor WHM access...is there anyway to install BackBee like we do with Magento, WordPress and several others??
do the upload and go for yourdomain.com/install and do it?
ima dev
@ob7
To get backbee installed on a webhosting plan, you will need to have the requirements there. So if the webhost will make sure the server you host on has those things available, then all you need is access to mysql and set up the database, as you would wordpress.
Heres the install tutorial
However, if you are serious about web applications, you need to get a vps

@lordsincrossX
i'm not a developer. i'm a business owner, a business at it's very beginning and in brazil i face 2 problems: 1 - economy: our currency is at a rate of 4real/1dollar - thats a HUGE setback. 2 - getting a developer here to develop the stuff for me has proven quite expensive.
i wouldn't even know how to start configuring a VPS, thats why i asked for a kind of "prebuilt" version of the thing

when i found backbee i was looking for a powerful drag and drop toll that could really develop the page this way. cause all the drag and drop tools i found were "kinda drag and drop"...i think i'm doing very well on my own given my very limited knowledge...checkout the store i've built thus far www.lojarosseto.com

I'd say BackBee is geared towards developers. But I can still point you in the right direction. You should look at www.concrete5.org, and then theres http://tidycms.com which is almost ready but not quite and you have to pay for it. But its suppose to be very easy to work with.
Concrete5 will also take some set up though... For turn key solution, I think tidycms may be what you need, but they are not quite done with it yet. But I've talked to their developers and I think it would definetly be something your looking for once its ready.
