    horrible app so far, I copied missed headers from diferent projects but it still won't compile -> "build/app_app.a(user_main.o):(.text+0x0): undefined reference to `UartDev'"

    hello, I used esp8266flasher.exe to flash the transparent-bridge firmware with the two bin files(0x00000.bin and 0x40000.bin) with the specified addresses, but the module keeps sending data through uart and it isnot working( no AP found on my pc)

    Hi. I'm just getting started with the ESP8266. I want to connect it to Arduinos and connect to it from my own software to read sensor values from the Arduinos. I was looking at this transparent bridge as it would make things a lot easier than handling all these AT commands from the Arduino code. I have flashed the transparent bridge to the ESP (or I think I have) but I'm not sure how to proceed from there. Is there a getting started guide kind of thing somewhere? How do I connect to my existing WiFi? I guess I need to do that first and then telnet to the ESP?

    Yo folks! I'm new and I'm not sure I understand what I can use https://github.com/beckdac/ESP8266-transparent-bridge for
    so, could I: use this lib to set my esp in AP mode and pump http requests made from said AP clients into serial on the esp? if I could, I'm theorising that perhaps I can push these http requests onto long range RF and then bridge it back to another AP at the other end. am I crazy or just way off base?

    @yesyesuk For each new device I use this on, I setup with the stock firmware (i.e. attach to my wifi) and them I flash the transparrent bridge. That way it will use those settings from the stock firmware so that I can telnet into it to finish the configuration.
    @cottsak I use it to add wireless serial communications for my atmega based projects. If you use the optiboot loader, you can wireless bootload atmegas, including arduinos.

    Hey I plan to add a TTL multiplexer to expose 4 serial ports with the 74HC4502 chip, but it needs 2 GPIOs to drive 2 pins to configure it, any idea if there is a version of the web interface to be able to toggle those 2 gpio pins?

    @yesyesuk
    @beckdac thanks for the reply. This is not very convenient, to be honest. What if you change your WiFi or want to connect to a different WiFi? Or, like I do, prepare a few ESP modules for a friend (test here at my place then post to him and he needs to connect to his WiFi)? I would need to re-flash the stock firmware first, then change the WiFi details, then re-flash your bridge firmware?
    I'm now using the transparent bridge firmware provided on this page which allows configuration from both the serial side and telnet over WiFi.

    Hi people! this looks awesome!
    Im working on a robot, and I wanted to add a simple wifi communication to my computer to control it. The ESP seems to be the best option, and the other day I discovered this firmware. My question is, if it's compatible with the ESP8266-01 version. Im running the AT 0.9.5v at the moment.
    beckdac
    @beckdac
    @augustoguerrero I've only tried the 03 and 12 but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    @augustoguerrero
    @beckdac Great! thanks. I already burn the firmware and everything seems to work. I have a wifi ap to wich i can connect. But i have a question. How can i telnet to it? directly connected from my pc?
    Im editing the 'config.h' file and putting the info of my router so it can connect to it instead. But how can i apply these settings to the firmware? I have to re-compile it again? and re-upload?
    "so it can connect to it instead" the first it being the Esp and the second one being the router. hahaha sorry im not a fluent english writer nor speaker.

    @augustoguerrero
    I just connected to it with 'telnet ip-address 1234'
    Nmap is a massive tool :)

    Hi guys i have a problem with the module i just whant to be able to see a data that another device its sending by serial port, the only thing i want its that y can be able to see the data from a terminal like putty or tera term, somebody tells me that i need to do a transparent bridge for do that but i dont know how to do it, somebody can helps me?
    Augusto Guerrero
    @augustoguerrero
    Hi @BernardoDavila In order to have the ESP acting as a transparent bridge you have to burn a new firmware in the chip. Take a look at this https://github.com/rodibot/ESP8266-transparent-bridge it's an implementation of the AT commands + a fully transparent bridge. I hope this helps you.

    @BernardoDavila
    @augustoguerrero ok let me see, if i cant, can i contact you in another way? if the answer is yes could you send me a email bernard.dj.23@gmail.com, i allready have the module configurated, but the only thing i missing is the transparent bridge, thanks for the info
    Augusto Guerrero
    @augustoguerrero
    @BernardoDavila Of course. Primero me gustaría saber si hablas español? If that's not the case i'll send you a mail anyway.
    BernardoDavila
    @BernardoDavila
    @augustoguerrero si si hablo español lo ocupo para un trabajo escolar pero sigo batallando ojalá si me puedas contactar para que me guíes ya solo falta eso ya para tenerlo funcionando, gracias

    @BernardoDavila Buenisimo! ahora te escribo un mail.

    Hi there
    I have the transparent mode up and running HOWEVER +++AT does nothing, everything just pass through and it never enters configure mode +++AT MODE etc... what can it be ?

    hi, sometimes when i send allot of tcp data (like 6 packets a seconds max) the connection drops out, and does not reconnect at all wifi stays up.

    Hello
    I have flashed this firmware and it's working perfectly
    Can you please guide me how to do the wireless program upload to arduino ?
    beckdac
    @beckdac
    @rajibgupta What I do is the following: avrdude -c avrisp -p m328p -P net:192.168.4.1:23 -F -U flash:w:mySketch.hex:i
    /all
    @/all I have moved new projects to this firmware: https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link
    It also has transparent serial bridging capable of programing arduinos, and, it supports a web UI on a different port, OTA updates (with the esp12), etc.
    beckdac
    @beckdac
    Let me revoke my previous message.
    After going through a dozen pairings of ESPs and AVRs, arduinos, and knockoffs, I realized the https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link is prone to reprogramming failures. Probably related to the RESET pin time.

    @/all has anyone used I2S for audio input with ESP ?
    Travis Travelstead
    @TravisJoe

    I hope this is a good place for this. I just started to use the Transparent bridge firmware, which worked out of the box, but seem to be getting a strange echo or extra return character when using telnet from the Mac terminal. I tried another terminal but had formatting issue where it did not return to the left most edge. Anybody have any thoughts on how to improve this? I am using this as a debug gateway for a project I am working on for work.

    Also has anybody used this bridge for transfering files?? I understand that this should just work but wanted to hear from somebody with real experience.

    Thanks to anybody that is able to provide any help.

    Hi everyone! Me and my friends have just released open-source (Apache 2.0) IoT project that is free for commercial use.
    It let you collect, visualize and analyze data from devices using MQTT, CoAP and HTTP protocols.
    You can find it here: https://github.com/thingsboard/thingsboard
    Node MCU sample is here: http://thingsboard.io/docs/samples/nodemcu/temperature/
    Don't hesitate to star the project on github to help us spread the word.
