hey @kiru : That is cool! Last year the organisation had 60 applications for 5 slots. We think the numbers will be similar this year. Therefore it would be nice if you already contact the mentors and show us some awesome code you have written which qualifies you for this project!

yes..
as I am new to bio informatics so would it be like a analytic platform for biological data ?

Yep
Basically we want the user to work with his data sets and reutilize BioJS widgets for that :)

Yes you need to understandnpm (the package manager) and probably we will need a small backend or service
To give you an example: browserify-cdn is written in JS

Hi taishi here. As someone who is fortunate to work in the biotech industry everyday, i want to emphasise that we are searching for someone who is not only experienced in coding but also has a sense of design and user interaction. In biotech we are overwhelmed with badly designed and complicated software. As usual, we trust in code. So if you can show us some cool demos that would be definitely an extra point.

@taishinomura I would try my best to the community.. as I am new to the community.. I want to introduce myself.. I , Ayush Sharma, from India. and I choose to BIOJS Dashboard project because recently I worked as a GUI designer in a consumer engagement platform which show the analytics of the prodcuts.. http://spiffout.com

@taishinomura how should the applicants provide their code demos? via github? @ayusharma introducing yourself is a great idea :). I think this is very polite, especially as newbie in gitter and helps us to learn more about you guys. Thanks for the links!

Hi taishi here. @daviddao github or a blog post would be the best option. Links are sufficient too. I don't think we are strict in this. @ayusharma thanks. we are looking forward to your contributions! And i agree with @daviddao. Introducing yourself is always polite and a nice idea when considering to apply for a job position or in this case, a scholarship.

@daviddao @taishinomura thank you so much.. to show my proposal can I create a minimum viable product prototype to show only the functionality of my idea ?
and as some technologies are new so can I use the technologies which I am comfortable to create the prototype...?
or should I use the mentioned technologies ?
Jules P. Wilburn
@wilburn
Feb 23 2015 19:45
@ayusharma: No for the prototype you can use your favorite, fancy technologies
Moreover if you need help or advise, don't hesitate to ping us here :)
