@alkalinethunder
so I can have multiple parts of Peacenet open (very rarely do I ever need to, but still) and switch between them like pages in Chrome.

I've got 2 monitors but I can't swap their virtual locations, so I just disable one because windows are always in the wrong place. Workspaces are great for me.
GTG, I'm going to athletics (I sprint and play football on the side of my main hobbies). I'll be back in quite a while.

Only issue I have is that one of my monitors is a TV so it overscans
a.k.a my desktop gets cut off
because the area where it overscans is where TV signals usually encode data like closed captions etc
But it doesn't bother me on Linux because that TV doesn't have the vision care stuff my primary monitor has so I usually just throw YouTube up on it
where a slight overscan doesn't REALLY matter
Gonna hopefully get that TV replaced with a better monitor this Christmas
that monitor, and a Blue Snowball mic, are at the top of my Christmas list this year
with a bigger, sturdier desk being up there too
Michael VanOverbeek
@alkalinethunder
hopefully one with a drawer in it so I can store all my cables etc that aren't being used in it

@mcb2003

I've got the exact same problem. 720p, fine. 1080p, overscan. And I can't see the tv's menu to change it.

I'm only getting ready, I'm still here briefly.

I've got a snowball, they're great.
I'm getting a surface pro and building a 4tb raid nas for christmas.

@alkalinethunder
Actually it's one command to fix overscan on an HDMI display if you're using nouveau as your driver

@mcb2003
My parents are split up, so I get a bit more than otherwise.
Michael VanOverbeek
@alkalinethunder
xrandr --output HDMI-0 --set underscan on if I remember correctly
might be different for your system, but, hopefully it works

@mcb2003
Helpful, I'll keep in mind. I need a better PC too, it's actually worse than yours.
Michael VanOverbeek
@alkalinethunder
Mine's pretty good, it just needs more RAM
which is why I want to rebuild it in a year or so
the RAM it uses is obsolete
DDR3's on the way out

Best system I have is a 2012 mac mini because video editing, but I always use a 2010 dell for linux stuff.
See you (if I do) in about 2 hours or more.

Good God I'ma strain my eyes trying to keep up with the local timeline
and that's local
Federated timeline is so active it barely loads.

GRRRR I HATE VERTICAL TEXT

HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO READ THAT WITHOUT LIFYING MY LAPTOP UP SIDEWAYS
I HAVE AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE PLUGGED IN DAMNIT
Michael VanOverbeek
@alkalinethunder
Just came up with a unique gameplay concept for Peacenet.
Rainbow tables.

@mcb2003
@alkalinethunder I loved your new dev update, it was full of an enthusiasm that I haven't seen in a long time. It's also introducing a load of cool new features: you're definitely on your way to make a game worth paying for.

Hey @alkalinethunder, So what are some of your goals for The Peacenet's future (or a stable release)?
Michael VanOverbeek
@alkalinethunder
@KaylinIsOnline_twitter VERY late response probably because I don't frequent this chat often
(I'm more active on the Discord)
but my current goal is to at least get a prototype of the basic hacking system again. Ideally the game should be playable in a fully text-based environment so that there can be some storyline involving being unable to run a GUI.
But I also want to put heavy amounts of work into the GUI to make it feel like a modern Linux desktop while also having a nice flashy hacker aesthetic.
