    Give me two years to rent a Tesla 3 and upload the light client of Ethereum on it!
    Bob Summerwill

    Absolutely, @karalabe!

    We should really get the foundation to buy one... for reasearch purposes of course ÉD

    Wait, what would a smart contract do with a car? Ohhh.... "rent me" :-D
    Bob Summerwill
    @bobsummerwill
    @linagee - "Wait, what would a smart contract do with a car? Ohhh.... "rent me". Yes! I imagine you're going to get something a bit similar to that ADEPT demo over time, where self-driving cars rent themselves out and decentralized-Uber-it-up. They could drive themselves to the garage for servicing, to the gas station for top-ups, etc. And just be a revenue-generating asset which you could own.

    For everyone who isn't already there - all the real conversation about Light Client is now happening on the Skype channel.
    vbuterin
    @vbuterin
    plus the conversation about whether conversation about the light client should be happening on the skype channel or here :D
    Jeffrey Wilcke
    @obscuren
    I’d prefer to stick with Gitter
    At least the markdown isn’t so screwy ;-)
    Taylor Gerring
    @tgerring
    One benefit to using Gitter is tight integration to Github issues and a variety of other integrations. Especially if we use issues/PRs as places of discussion, having that integrated directly into the chat is very very nice

    @obscuren
    +1
    vbuterin
    @vbuterin
    ok then, will make an effort to talk about things more over gitter
    Jeffrey Wilcke
    @obscuren
    No disrespect towards you @bobsummerwill but shall we make an official “ethereum” channel for this so that we can perhaps properly address issue or shall we leave that to a later date (afraid we get mixed history if we decide to move later)
    Taylor Gerring
    @tgerring
    +1 might lead to better discoverability having a repo under ethereum github. i uist admit, i had difficulty locating bobsummerwill/ethereum-light-client initally :smile:

    @bobsummerwill
    Go for it.
    golang for it
    I was new to gitter when I set this up.

    I invite everyone to move over to https://gitter.im/ethereum/light-client

    so with the light client the idea is to have block/tx receipts sent out of band and clients can just "request further proof" from a nearby full node
    (sorry I'm late to the discussion)
    sorry, wrong place

    The formatting comes out slightly different on LinkedIn and Engadget too. I'll have another look at the formatting on those too. Might be able to cut-and-paste from your latest on WordPress.

    I have been reviewing the site and github and was wondering what is the status of the android light client. I see that status-im was working on one; however, it seems the last commit was almost a year ago. Curious to know what the status is there if anyone knows.
