Hello. Im trying to use the pinpoint client and im trying to find my endpointid for:
response = client.get_endpoint(
ApplicationId='string',
EndpointId='string'
)
Im trying to send push notifications to users, but its not clear how i get the endpointID to actually send a push notification or where the endpointid is stored.

Having the same issue as @robert9111 with SSL validation failures. I noticed it happens when you install requests on the same python environment as boto. Filed an issue here: boto/boto3#2733

I am tasked with training developers to use boto3 resource objects., with examples of every supported AWS service. The boto3 documentation is a bit light on boto3 resources. Any advice for a process to document Boto3 resource usage tutorial/examples for all AWS services? (Maybe it is already done somewhere?) Thank you!

@johnbwilliams We have a set of Boto3 examples here: https://github.com/awsdocs/aws-doc-sdk-examples/tree/master/python. Not all services by any stretch but it should be enough to get you started.

Hi, I have a problem where I have to enter a MFA one-time password multiple times when executing my code locally (mfa_serial:is defined in my ~/.aws/config. I already tried to initiate boto3.session.Session()only once and pass it to all parts of my code but this didn't solve it.

Can someone help me about best practices on how to avoid this?

Hello everyone : ) I am currently uploading files from postgres to S3 via Boto. The files I am uploading range between 15 and 30 GBs. I have broken up these files to several uploads (around 2GB per upload). However I have the feeling the API is heavily throttled. In other words, my uploads all significantly slow down after a certain time. This behaviour seems to be the case when using upload_file as well as put_object methods. I also tried different settings with S3 Transfer configs but no luck. Is the API to upload to s3 throttled? Is there a way I can get around this? Also happy to read any documentation on this. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I think I found a mistake in the documentation. In the s3 multipart upload (https://boto3.amazonaws.com/v1/documentation/api/latest/reference/services/s3.html#multipartuploadpart) it says the part_number is a string, but from using it I think the part_number parameter is actually an integer.

Hello guys ! Could you please give me some tips on how can i enable boto3 autocompletion for PyCharm IDE? I've been struggling with the case for a while, tried few different methods and the only more or less working was pyboto3 for some modules (for some it just doesnt work).

Its a real pain to deal with it, im fine with docs but it takes SO much time to go throw them :(

Any help would be really appreciated!

Hi guys and gals, anyone has experience with using moto boto3 mocks and adding their own mocks on top?

I am using lambda get_aliases which is not implemented in moto but would be fine with some mock response, can't seem to figure out how to set that up in the test. I am using unittest.

Thanks a lot for any help :)

Hi folks, i have one python code that access the s3 using boto3 (version = 1.9.91). I also have a machine configured with IAM, but when i'm trying to access the s3 it's throwing this exception: botocore.exceptions.ClientError: An error occurred (AccessDenied) when calling the GetObject operation: Access Denied. Could someone help me?

you don't have proper rights for the api call

@Waples, but it's setted in the IAM. When i'm using my jupyter i can have access into this using boto3.resource. When i try boto3.session i have this error.

I sent a PR in Jan to fix a problem that other people are having. It's a small fix with a test case that I think matches the Contributing guidelines.

Do I need to do something else to get this PR accepted? e.g. specifically ask someone to review it?

what boto3 use internally to connect to athena?
Allie
@cite-reader
Ultimately, urllib3.
rohan-t
@rohan-t
@cite-reader i mean to say JDBC or ODBC or SQLAlchemy...to make connection or simple urllib3? can you little bit elaborate on this please? code snippet or something would be really appreciated

Allie
@cite-reader

Like all AWS services, all access to Athena goes through an API carried over HTTPS. The JDBC driver, for example, ultimately has to use this API in order to provide its services to the Java program using it. Boto3 provides access to Athena in this shape; you might notice that the methods on an Athena client correspond directly to actions of the low-level API (except for the get_paginator method used to get, er, a paginator for conveniently iterating over a set of results), which is entirely deliberate.

A lot of boto3's functionality is implemented in the botocore package, and--eliding a lot of detail that isn't too interesting right now--any given request will end up being handled by this method right here that uses urllib3 to do the actual network transfer.

Hi, my django container uses botocore and the docker container is hanging on
"Downloading botocore-1.20.49-py2.py3-none-any.whl" when calling pip install
this used to work all the time, until 15 minutes ago
it's kinda annoying because I can not deploy anymore. Is anyone witnessing the same?

@GOODLIFEZW https://boto3.amazonaws.com/v1/documentation/api/latest/index.html This is the only one I know of (Besides the more general https://docs.aws.amazon.com). Are you looking for something specific, because that should list and explain all features?
