hey Martin whenever you are around ping one of us
Martin Smith
@martinb3
@zarry I'm around
@brianbianco too
Brian Bianco
@brianbianco
I added you as a collaborator
feel free to delete all files and force push to master.
But really don't do that :'(
Martin Smith
@martinb3
LOL
Thank you.
I was telling @zarry I'll definitely consult you all for anything but the smallest bugfixes and improvements :)
Got the notification email from Github @brianbianco, so I'm added
Thanks again.
Brian Bianco
@brianbianco
Even though you have the power to push right to master you can always just issue a pull request anyway
and let it sit, see if anybody comments. Then you can always choose to merge it yourself if nobody objects.
We should probably discuss design issues together though
Martin Smith
@martinb3
Yep! I'll definitely do that.
That's the reason I tend to maintain forks and PR from them, vs. just branches in the upstream
Martin Smith
@martinb3
@brianbianco@zarry Is it time to swap the master and 2.0.0_wip branch?
branches, even.
Larry Zarou
@zarry
I just did @martinb3 I couldn't get to it at lunch but took care of when I got home
wouldn't mind a once over whenever you find the time
I also uploaded to supermarket as well
Martin Smith
@martinb3
@zarry great!
will check it all out now
It all looks good. I don't think my line wrap changes made it to supermarket, but I think it looks good overall. Thanks guys! Have a great weekend.

Martin Smith
@martinb3
@brianbianco I can do that release if you want to add me in supermarket. I do all of my work on a Linux desktop, so it's just a matter of running one knife command to re-release it. Have a good weekend all!
Larry Zarou
@zarry
Yea I am not quite sure how to get around this on my system. Not sure if it is a chefdk issue or my local path.
Martin Smith
@martinb3
I'm not a mac person but maybe if you had ports install gnu tar and then figure out how to get ruby's minitar library to use it?
Larry Zarou
@zarry
it does have gnutar
I have only had this for a month too, so go figure. work upgrade :)
Martin Smith
@martinb3
hehe
I have a macbook air, but I don't really use it for development
@zarry Doesn't seem like any of the tickets/issues document how they got their minitar library or knife commands to use gnu tar instead.
Hmm
Larry Zarou
@zarry
I will see if Brian either adds you on supermarket or repackages himself. I will spend a little time looking into how to force gnutar but yea like you just said. I haven't seen much yet
Martin Smith
@martinb3
yeah weird.
ok. Well just ping me if I can help :)
Larry Zarou
@zarry
it looks like chef will patch, just not sure when yet
Larry Zarou
@zarry
Few weeks removed from the release, just want to call out the awesome job we did
I haven't seen any issues pop up aside from the one about it being built on a mac and the tar issue
so nice work!
Brian Bianco
@brianbianco
Yeah great work! almost no complaints
that either means nobody is using it yet or there just aren't many unseen bugs yet!
Some day we may want to see how the cookbook acts with the 3.0 RC
beta or whatever itis
Martin Smith
@martinb3
Sweet!
I know we're using it here a bunch
No problems :)
Larry Zarou
@zarry
Hey All. I have been insanely busy with work lately but finally coming out the other side here
I notice all of us have probably been slammed as the cookbook has been dormant for awhile. Lets try to get a small discussion going and just make sure we can keep this thing up to date and running perfectly
I can dedicate some time over the next few weeks but lets try to get a game plan and dedicate that time to something useful
