Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
good point.
Chakra 2016.02 "Ian" i just checked -> looks and works great
chakra mandelbulber 2.0.8.png

@buddhi1980
@zebastian You have worked with MSVC and AppVeyor. Is it works? I there possible to compile mandelbulber with MSVC? I see latest update from AppVeyour from month ago. I'm asking because I'm updating documentation
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Yes, it works:
I used Visual Studio 2015 community version which uses msvc14
I made the setup with cmake (libraries and includes) and then build the executable.
i am building right now on the raspberry, expecting results for tomorrow morning :)
Linux Mint i am not using anymore...
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
OK. Let me know how it works on raspberry :smiley:
mclarekin
@mclarekin
Gratulacje Polska
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
Thanks!
Dziękuję.
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
hmm, raspberry fails to compile. throwing internal compiler error in render_window.cpp will investigate...
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
It could be just not enogh memory. This source is very big because contains all UI elements. It needs about 500MB of RAM memory to compile
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Thats a good idea, i will increase swap size and try again...
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
that was it, compiler passed render_window.cpp now proceeding compiling....
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
compilation is ready, program run!
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
nice!
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
Tomorrow I'm starting preparing packages for release. Please do not commit any new changes expect bug fixes.
mclarekin
@mclarekin
expect? except
This release is going to be sooooo good. Wow, what a program!!!
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
Mandelbulber no longer works under Windows XP. This is dying system. Probably Qt5.6 is not compatible with this system
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Windows 10 looks good so far. No problems yet
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
Actually I see only problems under Widdows XP, but I'm going to ignore it. I will publish this release on Friday
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
2.08 is published. Now is the time for vacation. I'm going back to development by the end of July
mclarekin
@mclarekin
"Summertime vacation" sounds good. It is winter down south of the equator, but today we have a pure blue sky.
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
have a good trip Krzysztof. I will be on vacation from beginning of August to beginning of September. So i will continue with programming and you can take over, when im gone :)
@mclarekin you are not missing that much. till now our summer in germany is a sequence of rainy cold days
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
damn, just found a bug which breaks the CLI:
buddhi1980/mandelbulber2@7646708
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
I have just seen this
Bu I see that you have fixed it.
I can repackage all and publish it as 2.08-1
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
have you received any other feedback yet?
maybe wait a little, so you do not have to package again and again.
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
I would prefere to fix critical bugs immediatelly
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
OK
Thats the demonstration effect :P
I was trying to do a video tutorial on this and it immediately broke.
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
:smile:
but it's good you found this error
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Yes, i just wish i have found it earlier.
I will add a check for this to the test class. So we wont run into this problem again.
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
good idea
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
there we go:
buddhi1980/mandelbulber2@8e69b84
also changed the slotRenderXXX to be bool and pass through the result of RenderXXX in flight / keyframe
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980

You have left:

// if (mainInterface->mainWindow)

Is this correct?

it's commented out
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
I have corrected it
bermarte
@bermarte
Build on OS X is broken, where and when must be investigated. It's way too small the size of the resulting executable and there's no helpful debug error, just a "Segmentation fault: 11" message when launching the program from command line . Build succeeded but app failing to start.
bermarte
@bermarte

@buddhi1980 It was a primitive object, I am sorry I was not able to answer before and to react on time. Next months I will have more time to work on the project.

@bermarte, could you give us the code for fractal which was rendered here http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=18872
Was it rendered as a primitive object or it's iterated formula?

bermarte
@bermarte
Errata corrige: The file size is not a problem at all but something went wrong back in June, between the first or the second day of the month. A specific commit causing the hitch must be found, 004d72a77282488fced786ec0bb6c299d893e36c is still ok while 9df40919b4ad4c0b2d5fb6ab68a46d4a06193a8b is not.

@bermarte
eaa213b915b2cd7b6a8b917dfcdfb3fc193ec2de is fine as well. I am using Qt5.7.0.
mclarekin
@mclarekin
@bermarte double DEFuran(CVector3 pos) {
CVector3 p=pos;
CVector3 fur;
fur.x=atan2(p.y,p.x)8.;
fur.y=atan2(p.z,(sqrt(pow(p.x,2.)+pow(p.y,2.))-2.))
8./sqrt(pow(p.x,2.)+pow(p.y,2.));
fur.z=(pow((sqrt(pow(p.x,2.)+pow(p.y,2.))-2.),2.)
+pow(p.z,2.)-1.)*4/sqrt(pow(p.x,2.)+pow(p.y,2.));
return function(fur);
}
is that what Buddhi wanted, that you posted here on Jan 04 2016
bermarte
@bermarte
@mclarekin Yes, but one needs also function's declaration, i.e. function(fur), and other bits. @/all A problem occurs between buddhi1980/mandelbulber2@6ced14d (ok) and the next commit buddhi1980/mandelbulber2@9df4091 (fault).
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Hi bermarte, commit looks OK to me, can you provide THe Compiler error?
bermarte
@bermarte
@zebastian Hi Sebastian, there's no compiler's error.
