Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
Hi Martin,
Setting up a gitlab for custom CI is a great idea,
i am glad you are into packaging / building / testing, this is a skill we are currently low on.
I also have some basic experience with gitlab, so i would appreciate, if you can give me access to it.
My mail is: sebastian.jennen@gmx.de
BTW: MacOS Build is also tested in .travis.yml, its the else condition to if [ "${TRAVIS_OS_NAME}" = "linux" ]
Martin
@acidhunter
oh, i was a bit late yesterday
was better to go sleeping
account is created
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
@acidhunter do you got a dedicated runner?
Martin
@acidhunter
The runner for mandelbulber is dedicated.
Hexacore i7 with ssd storage
Bandwith is a bit limited (100/44mbit)
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
that should be more than descent :)
Martin
@acidhunter
We can do opencl tests on this runner too ;-)
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
oh cool, does it also has a graphics card, or on board graphics?
Martin
@acidhunter
Gtx680

Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
cool
I try to get this working with gitlab
have to build a custom runner for this.
Martin
@acidhunter
My gitlab is a bit slow at the moment. Sry for this. Migration to a much more powerfull host is planned mid october
The new machine will be a 6 core xeon with 128gb ecc ram
;-)
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
:D compile time will be a breeze.
Martin
@acidhunter
On this host we can run multiple builds at once on ramdisks
Sebastian Jennen
@zebastian
thats good for cross compilation testing.
Martin
@acidhunter
i ran into problems yesterday after creating a branch on gitlab
after adding this branch git push --mirror wasnt working anymore
Martin
@acidhunter
possible solutions are:
  • Using gitlab as "master" and do automated mirrorring to gitlab with gitlab-ci (simple and powerful)
  • A minimal repo on gitlab that contains only a gitlab-ci file and clone the github repo each time a build starts (We need to setup webhooks on both ways, logging does not work smart like in gitlab)
Martin
@acidhunter
has anyone done builds on linux to target MacOS ?
Martin
@acidhunter
i try to get this working on archlinux:

@acidhunter
Thanks for invite me to the team ;-)

You are welcome here
Martin
@acidhunter
The required Dockerfiles & images containing the build requirements are up!
Martin
@acidhunter
Oh yeah!
the first CI build on gitlab and .deb packaging is done!
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
How to run docker image on Debian?
Martin
@acidhunter
Like any other docker image
My images only contain the build reqs.
Had some of this moments at shower today. Autobuilds on dockerhub, CI that uses that docker images and simplyfied deb packes where done after that^^
Documentation will folloe tomorow
Ps: did a experiment with libvirt to bring up arm7l and aarch64 runners

@buddhi1980
I have never run any docker, so that's why I ask. I will wait for more hints and ask uncle google.
Martin
@acidhunter
What are ur on-screen times?
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
What you mean?
Martin
@acidhunter
I can give you some support setting up the docker things ( including opencl inside the containers)
I am on my workstation from 8-16 oclock
CET
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
Maybe not today. Now I want to correct cross-compiler scrips after latest changes.
We cannot continue testing of OpenCL under Windows without that.
Martin
@acidhunter
I can provide the buildbots and resources.
Krzysztof Marczak
@buddhi1980
this would be great
Martin
@acidhunter
U can use my build runners to test it
