nono, it was just a missing package in my PKGBUILD that i use for bake my docker image
i try to build a cloud computing ready docker image with opencl support
is opencl working in headless mode?

@luchansky I will try and see if i can get anything better than 256 on my AMD.
On my nVidia m960x I can get 512 on the menger preset, if i try adding in a bit more code it drops to 384, and often I am working at 256

@TasMania17 What is more useful is building in debug mode in QT, then you can supply a backtrace file.

hello together,

first part of my docker opencl approach i did a PKGBUILD for opencl on archlinux

building with docker is more or less done

locally building works but building them from CI faces an issue with qt

i see that some other projects also facing this issue

weird fact is that the same dockerfile works without gitlab-ci

IMHO ignore the issue, as far as i understood it it is only a warning, when the output device is not recognized correctly (file vs tty) as the tty can not be seeked. When this does not prevent the build it should be "fine"

its just a build definition
it runs the packaging from official git, no custom patches etc
really weird is that it works when i run the build without docker

I have some very old Mandelbulber 1.11 .fract files that I'd like to convert to 2.15. I am currently running Mandelbulber2 on my MAC. What is the easiest way to convert these old files?

@bytered image adjustments tab, at the bottom is coordinate system like in mandebulberv1.21. Enable that and see what you get when you load old v1.11 settings. If they are not the same, well, that is when the fun begins:)

To load old files you need to use option from top menu: File/Import settings from old Mandelbulber
There is no guaranty that the image will look the same like in old program but with small corrections of effects should be all right.

i just downloaded the code from sourceforge a couple of days ago and modified it to fit my needs. And today i see that there's a github repo :) my current changes to the code are kinda hacky and it was a first test if this would work, which it does. I want to integrate the changes as clean as possible so i might have some questions about the code. Basically I need to add a new type of iteration (twin procedure), invented by a german physicist, which produces very interesting results in 2D. I also need to implement some functions, but this looks easy.

aux.DE is an approximarion of first derivative of fractal formula. It is used to calculate estimated distance to fractal surface. In many cases it is difficult to find correct formula for it and we are trying to find it experimentally (as you did).
