    is there a way to disable this behaviour?
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    just tried to write a custom parserPlugin... empty nodes are not going through this process :(

    @StephanHoyer
    how can I get the absolute position of the cursor or the current range and how can I set it?
    Ryan McCarvill
    @disordinary
    @StephanHoyer you mean the absolute position in terms of pixels?
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    No, I mean in terms of chars

    @ryanmccarvill
    You mean range.head.offset?

    hello! I noticed there are rendered for plain text, dom, html and AMP. Are there any plans on the road map for Facebook Instant Articles rendering?

    Has anyone had any issues with "Uncaught Error: ember-wormhole failed to render into '#mobiledoc-editor-card-2802' because the element is not in the DOM" when editing/saving cards? I'm using the createComponentCard utility and i seem to get the above error when i save, edit and resave. With logging it seems as though my shared-embed-card.js component gets initialized twice just before the exception which leads me to believe that perhaps that's the issue.
    It almost seems like the card element gets removed while ember-wormhole code is running and when ember-wormhole tries to access the div... error
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    I fixed the above issue in a forked repo. Any interest in the fix @bantic @mixonic ? bustlelabs/ember-mobiledoc-editor#124

    Bonjour!
    Hello gitter!
    @bantic and I chatted with @disordinary the other day, and we agreed that a Slack might be better for Mobiledoc as a chat platform.
    We will loose the backlog, but Slack seems to fit better with most of our workflows for coordination (it is just another org on our Slack, a click away)
    @disordinary is looking in to making a Slack org for us, hope to have it set up soon!
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    Do we really need another chat platform for aprox. 1 entry a day :worried:
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    @StephanHoyer personally, I'm worried stuff in this chat gets ignored and missed
    do you use Gitter for a lot of other projects?
    The slack room would basically replace this, not add to it
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    Gitter is easier to approach since a github account is enought
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    agreed that the barrier of entry is lower
    but the engagement is also lower
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    We use gitter a lot for the mithril chat
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    mm
    Stephan Hoyer
    @StephanHoyer
    but feel to change this
    I use both
    Ryan McCarvill
    @disordinary

    I see two benefits of slack:
    1) Most people have it installed already for work and other communities they belong to, whereas gitter is something that people tend to look at every now and then. Of all the gitter communities I belong to only one or two are very engaged, all of the slack communities I belong to are engaged.

    2) It allows us to have separate rooms for every part of the project which means we can get into the nitty gritty detail, we could have a room for the upcoming collaboration project, another for ember-mobiledoc, another for react-mobiledoc, another for general bugs, help, integration issues, etc. and not worry about spamming or alienating people.

    Ultimately, the community is not very engaged on Gitter for mobiledoc, because people tend to have slack on all day every day even for small projects the engagement seems to be much higher.

    Ryan McCarvill
    @disordinary
    If it doesn't work we can always switch it off.
    Interestingly there is already a mobiledoc.slack.com (I wanted to be more general than mobiledoc-kit so that we can encompass all projects that fall under the mobiledoc umbrella). Does it belong to anyone in this community or is it just coincidence that someone else is using the name?
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    @disordinary I think there is another project or a company named mobiledoc
    mobile doctor
    Ryan McCarvill
    @disordinary

    Yeah I thought as much - it would be a name that is useful in a variety of context.

    Here is the invite linke https://mobiledoc-kit.slack.com/shared_invite/MTQwMTI1MTQ3NDEyLTE0ODY3NTY5OTYtMzdiMmU4MThiMA it will work for a week, I'll look at getting one of those auto invite systems up on Heroku.

    @janjiss
    Hey folks, a noob here. If I wanted to achieve similar functionality like in dropbox paper, where upon text selection, the formatting menu appears, I assume it has to be done in editor.cursorDidChange callback?
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    @janjiss FYI we've tried to move discussion to Slack :pray: :bow:
    Jānis Miezītis
    @janjiss
    Oh, sorry for that :D
    Should I make a PR for README?
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    yeah on cursor did change you must get the cursor and find it's x/y on the page
    the Readme acutally does have a slack link, but yeah the gitter button is still there
    would be great to have that swapped out
    Jānis Miezītis
    @janjiss
    Ok, I’ll submit the PR real quick
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    I feel like there should be an example of the floating formatting bar somewhere
    I think everyone figures it out and then doesn't share the findings :-p
    Jānis Miezītis
    @janjiss
    Agreed, and also it would be nice to see some kind of example on how to create a side menu, like in dropbox paper, where, upon selection, you can add images and other goodies
    Matthew Beale
    @mixonic
    the ember-mobiledoc-editor does that
    not sure about the react and due wrappers
    Jānis Miezītis
    @janjiss
    At the moment I want to use vanilla JS, but if ember has it, I need to take a look
    Anyways, moving to slack :)
