I see two benefits of slack:
1) Most people have it installed already for work and other communities they belong to, whereas gitter is something that people tend to look at every now and then. Of all the gitter communities I belong to only one or two are very engaged, all of the slack communities I belong to are engaged.
2) It allows us to have separate rooms for every part of the project which means we can get into the nitty gritty detail, we could have a room for the upcoming collaboration project, another for ember-mobiledoc, another for react-mobiledoc, another for general bugs, help, integration issues, etc. and not worry about spamming or alienating people.
Ultimately, the community is not very engaged on Gitter for mobiledoc, because people tend to have slack on all day every day even for small projects the engagement seems to be much higher.
Yeah I thought as much - it would be a name that is useful in a variety of context.
Here is the invite linke https://mobiledoc-kit.slack.com/shared_invite/MTQwMTI1MTQ3NDEyLTE0ODY3NTY5OTYtMzdiMmU4MThiMA it will work for a week, I'll look at getting one of those auto invite systems up on Heroku.
