are you aware of a common/best practice to name a camel xml file?
several examples are using camelContext.xml
I'm asking because it can ease widespread of Tooling
there is a feature in Eclipse which is to propose plugins when a file has a specific name/extension
so for instance, if a file is named <afile>.camel.xml I can associate it with the Camel LSP plugin for Eclipse IDE
it can help for spreading the word of the new plugin
it would also helps to configure most of the IDE clients as they often an easy to say that we support a specific filename but not a specific namespace

@davsclaus VSCode Marketplace Entry done!
already 7 installs
in less than a day

@alainpham
I guess I'm the 8th install :). On question though is is supposed to be working already? It seems to be hanging with the message "starting apache camel language server". I can see that it running with a ps command.

@lhein
that is the LSP server
if u open up a camel context xml file
and then edit a uri in a from or to endpoint
you should have completion
its far from being perfect but a good start

@alainpham I think it is only a problem of message display, I created camel-tooling/camel-lsp-client-vscode#20
Alain Pham
@alainpham
I just gave it another try. in fact it's working as expected. It's very nice, this will bump productivity by 1000% !
Lars Heinemann
@lhein
great that it works for you
we are really at the very beginning with that tooling
a lot of features are still not complete or missing even
this server provides the lsp features like code completion
we also want to enable that for Java files
any help is welcome
Alain Pham
@alainpham
Sure i'm aware of that. I'm glad to be an early adopter for this and I'll try my best to contribute if I can. Do you know if there is any initiative around a language server supporting general XML auto-completion?
Lars Heinemann
@lhein
as far as I know there is no fully featured LSP so far
which is quite strange
I would have expected such a server even earlier than a Java one
Alain Pham
@alainpham
yes, it's a bit surprising the only one that is know is this one https://github.com/microclimate-devops/xml-language-server, and it does only validation for now.
Lars Heinemann
@lhein
@alainpham that one looks quite inactive
initial commit 4 months ago
since then not much activity
@apupier_twitter do u know other XML LSP ?
Aurélien Pupier
@apupier_twitter
yes but the IBm one is the most advanced
you can follow Microsoft/vscode#1440 where the most active discussiosn and references can be found
for Red Hatters, you calso follow openshiftio/openshift.io#1193 and http://post-office.corp.redhat.com/archives/devtools-pm/2018-April/msg00092.html
Aurélien Pupier
@apupier_twitter
for completion on xml LSP o microclimate, there is this issue reported microclimate-devops/xml-language-server#9
and I guess that you can vote a +1 on it :-)
Alain Pham
@alainpham
Thanks for the pointers. I up voted all of them :).
