We just configured 'fall-through-cache' with 'memory-cache' and it works :) doesn't remove requests, but improve performance for end user alot. Cool things.
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
yeah, it will return the cached data and then make the request
and update the data once the request completes
so you still get the request, but that might be better long term anyway,
if your data could become "real-time" at some point

does any one know if we could copy that fast?
i think its nice if we would also have errors by component some how
i think we could maybe do errors by viewModel ?
as the code normal always gets executed inside a viewModel right?

I'm trying to follow the example from the Playlist Editor recipe to use jQuery++ for drag/drop events. My events aren't firing. I've tried defining them like this: <span ($dropover)="alert(1)"> in the stash file and like this in a can Component ".element-class dropover": function ( el, ev, drop, drag ) { but in neither case are the events fired. I suspect I'm missing some can package. I have these three: import Component from "can-component/";
import "jquerypp/event/drag/drag";
import "jquerypp/event/drop/drop";
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Frank Lemanschik
@frank-dspeed
@lmagarian i think you maybe should some how do your following in a JSbin or public github repo or at last
do open a issue where you really post enought code to reproduce that
the info what you importent and the can-stache syntax gives for example at last me no idea what could be wrong

@frank-dspeed
by the way if any one is interrested in using class without new :)

Hey guys, I faced problem with using can.Algebra:

I'm getting the list of objects with 'priorityId' as 'id' for them and setting id using set.props.id('priorityId'), but when I call Priority.get({}) the request looks like http://localhost:3000/?id=5. If I don't define Algebra, then request is correct http://localhost:3000/priorities/5. How I can set id property and don't break a request? It's a 3.9.0 can. Thanks for any help.

hey I've got property (in a defineMap) that has the value() function. I've got an event handler "{viewModel} selected_SKU_ID" that does some stuff as well. Wondering how I can get it to fire initially with value().
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
get your event handler to fire initially?

@roemhildtg
is it possible to disable the auto-conversion to a define map when passing an object to a component?
<my-component {val}="prop" /> Prop is just a plain object, I don't want it to be converted to a define map.
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
on your DefineMap, set val: "any"
Gregg Roemhildt
@roemhildtg
Is that different than '*'?
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
no
they're aliases
Gregg Roemhildt
@roemhildtg
because I have * right now
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
it shouldn't be converted then
Gregg Roemhildt
@roemhildtg
woops, you're right, I didn't define that prop on the define map. so the default is to upgrade it to a define map

What is the easiest way to update the URL without triggering a route change?
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
are you changing the URL to something that matches one of your routes?
Paul Tichonczuk
@tracer99
yes
we need to update the url so that if a user hits refresh, the page loads in the state that the user left it in, but right now, the route change is triggering navigation
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
does that mean the route didn't change correctly when the user navigated to that page?
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
to answer your original question, I don't know of a way to update the URL without triggering a route change
you can modify the hash, but not pathname
when using pushstate
Paul Tichonczuk
@tracer99
ok. It's obviously something in our application. As it triggers a full page reload on the first change, but not subsequent ones.

Guys, in mustache it was possible to create such helper:
{{l10n 'something' 0=value 1=value2}}

And helper's hash has was:

{0: value, 1: value2}

But when I try to do this way in stache helperOptions looks like:

0:"something"
1:0
2:value
3:1

no hash or something else.
Is it unsafe and prohibited to use just numbers as keys (if I wrap it as strings the issue still there, it will be like 1:'0') ? Or this is a bug ?
Because if I do something like:
{{l10n 'something' prop_1=value prop_2=value2}}
Everything works as expected.

tried:
Call Expression
Hash Expression
Helper Expression

@Lighttree submit an issue, we'll look into it

Define maps that have an array property with values, when that value is set to an empty array it doesn't change. Is this expected behavior ?

Brad Momberger
@bmomberger-bitovi
@lighttree's issue is a Known issue: canjs/can-stache#203
Now if someone on the OS team would be nice enough to fix it. :)
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
I added it to an upcoming version @bmomberger-bitovi @Lighttree
so we'll try to address it
@roemhildtg what do you mean it doesn't change?
Gregg Roemhildt
@roemhildtg
Using the map.set({ prop: ['new'] }) doesn't update the prop value
Kevin Phillips
@phillipskevin
ok, that's not shown in your jsbin, right?
Gregg Roemhildt
@roemhildtg
The first console print line does show it
