Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Although that might depend on knowing that we've just tagged the build, which as I mentioned in castleproject/Core#48.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
for release notes, we have releasenotes.txt file in the repo that's I update manually
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Yes. that's certainly possible.
Another option is counting the builds since the last git tag was applied and adding that as a disambiguator.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
but I imagine with certain level of discipline that could be largely automated
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
When 0, we have an official release.
Oh, yes, I think so.
I think perhaps the best bet would be once a release improvement is identified, we update castleproject/Core#48's checklist and spin off a new issue.
Not saying "don't chat about it first", just when we understand what we want well enough to "publish" the desire.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
yeah, builds-since-tag could work... the only downside I can immediately think of is that it's not obvious, having a nuget, to figure out which exact build it corresponds to, but we could put build number/revision hash in the package itself
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Right. releasenotes.txt. I forgot about that. can scrape it for the GitHub Release.
Ah. Yes, builds-since-tag is a little opaque.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
yeah yeah. Please feel free to create github issues for those, more persistent format would be better for a discussion loke that
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
(Regarding gitter notifications, I'm only getting one per message, but am getting it while looking at gitter, which I don't remember before. Used to just pop up when I was on another tab, I thought.)
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
also, since we're aiming for our next release to bump up major version number, we have a bit more flexibility if needed, regarding breaking changes and such
yeah, I think the notifications problem was intermittent - I get one now as well
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
I'd consider tracking the "publish intermediate NuGet packages" issue separately. It's kind of a fancy new option, not improving the existing onerous manual build. Suit?
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
absolutely
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Awesome. Aw, heck. I think I've earned some karma with you guys. Maybe I should cautiously switch to "do and ask for forgiveness" mode. :wink2:
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
haha
hamilton verissimo
@hammett
dalefrancis88/Windsor@e2543e5 testing this
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
@hammett same commit with ?w=1 (ignore line ending differences) dalefrancis88/Windsor@e2543e5
hmm, gitter has stripped the ?w=1 down from the link...
hamilton verissimo
@hammett
neat. working on something similar. hence my curiosity
Meligy, GuruStop.NET
@Meligy
have you considered JabbR as well?
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
hi Meligy
we have, but I like this tool and how it's integrated with Github, does Jabbr do that?
Meligy, GuruStop.NET
@Meligy
I don't think it has any special github integration, just a generic bot API
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
@kkozmic, you look green. Are you really awake and here?
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
I am now :)
I think all it tells you is that my computer is on
and the tab is open
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Ah. That's a little disappointing. I was hoping it'd mean more. Ah well, we'll learn the intricacies of gitter as time goes on.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
@blairconrad did you resolve the problem with STW?
I can see that the page is published
I also (think) I gave you permissions required to upload and add images. Let me know if it doesn't work (you might need to log out/in)
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Oh, thanks, @kkozmic. Was out all day. Will check real soon now. Although may be interrupted - on phone with Satellite TV provider, getting "technical assistance".
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
hehe
no worries
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
I can upload images. I think that someone in power will ultimately have to approve the new draft, but yeah, thinks seem to be progressing. Thanks!
Also, the technician will be at my house between 8 and 12 tomorrow.
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
ok, no worries
I'm in GMT+10 so at work right now, I'll approve the draft or whatever else needs to be done in ~8h
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Sure, no problem. I just added the screenshots and hit "Save". I'm in no rush for the changes. It's all for the project.
Jonathon Rossi
@jonorossi
@blairconrad I've just added you to the editors group, your changes shouldn't require approval anymore. @kkozmic
Krzysztof Koźmic
@kkozmic
good one Jono
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
Thanks, @jonorossi. I appreciate your trust.
Blair Conrad
@blairconrad
@kkozmic, you seem to be awake now. I can add a link to the Pre-release feed from Windsor's main page. I was torn because the feed includes both Windsor and Core packages, so ended up adding the new page to the <root> namespace.
Of course, can link to from anywhere. Or several anywheres.
Best candidates I see for link location on Windsor main page:
  1. in that funny yellow box right at the top
  2. Resources
I'm not sure how prominent you want to make the feed. i.e., are you afraid everyone will jump on the CI feed, or hoping everyone will?
