Yeah I can agree with that. So I know we can add things into GitHub once we get organized but do people have a preferred space for now to document these tasks? I just want to make sure we keep things documented so we don’t forget things
Tony Arcieri
@tarcieri
I'd prefer GitHub Issues for that. If someone wants to open an issue for triaging all of the other issues, we can discuss which items are high priority
the highest priority to me is getting a 0.18 release out
Matthew Iverson
@Esity
@tarcieri how many people have access to update issues and the wikis?
Tony Arcieri
@tarcieri
I think I cleaned house fairly recently. I can take a look tomorrow

@ngetahun
I think we can add milestones(for example v0.18) to issues and label them as high priority as well. That would be helpful anyone looking to get started.
Hey everyone, I have started manual testing with some of the projects using celluloid that I have found here. Please let me know of any other projects that are not listed here.
Tony Arcieri
@tarcieri
Awesome, thank you @ngetahun !

hey! anyone recall why 0.16.1 got yanked (c) 2015 :) ... it seems to have been around the time 0.17.1 as released (~ same changes)
Just here to say: I had a lot of fun using celluloid last June, checking the project (only today) I am relieved that there are a few people stepping up to help maintain it. Thanks!

Just finished manual testing the beta release with the projects listed
Some of the projects have been discontinued or in active for a long time (3+ years with no commits)
The most common problem is backward api compatibility since some of them are running celluloid versions 0.15 and older
I also noticed that the versioning scheme doesn’t follow semantic versioning, @tarcieri was this done deliberately? If so, is there a plan to move to semver?
Some breaking changes were introduced in 0.16. I’ll share a detailed report here tomorrow or in the next two days.
Tony Arcieri
@tarcieri
for what its worth, the semver spec says it does not apply to 0.x versions
nevertheless, I generally tried to follow it with celulloid

@ngetahun
I think after 0.18, it would be good to do a 1.0 release
I think we can also leverage the new github actions
@tarcieri I saw that some of the projects within celluloid have been archived. Is there any reason as to why?
Tony Arcieri
@tarcieri
the project has been dead for several years. I’ll believe celluloid/celluloid isn’t dead when someone else can prep a release
archiving the projects is a clear indication of the current status

@vandonsel
Not sure where to post this but celluloid crashes with segmentation fault with >= mpv-1:0.30.0 installed
Crash upon selecting the + button in the top left corner.

Hello everyone! I would like to contribute to the project during this summer as part of the Google Summer of Code. The ultimate goal would be to release the 1.0 version. Is there anyone who is still active from here?

@bogdanRada
I would also love to help if possible. I am not an contributor but i have been using celluloid for a long time and i really live
I meant to say i really love it

@emesepadanyi

@harsh183
yeah def looking forward to seeing you all around, I posted on the rubygsoc channel on slack but I didn't get much response there either, I think I'll try email as well

hi friends
I'm having issue with screensaver persistently being disabled in celluloid in Fedora 31 under Gnome on Wayland
what I understood is that this function sometimes doesn't prevent screen blanking, but not the other way around - that it can't be disabled
I've tried setting mpv variable in config file, as well as configuring a hotkey and switching the setting real-time, but still screen never goes blank
any hints?
OMG...
this is not correct Celluloid :D
sorry for the noise

Hi Everyone, we did 0.18.0 version release last weekend. we are trying to slowly ramp up bug fixes & improvements of Celluloid. Feel free to create pull requests for any kind of improvements. Later we can focus on more complex new feature implementations

Hello, are there any plans of maintaining celluloid/reel? I am using this in some of my open source projects . I would also like to contribute to it if possible but the project seems to be archived. I don't know if this is the right channel to ask about this. If it is not, i will delete the message, just let me know
