@moradology to be honest, ReactSelect was put together pretty quickly. I think that signature in ReactSelect is wrong - it has to be. For a quick fix, you can look at Async instead. The interface there should be correct, because that is the one we wound up using in the end

@oyvindberg much appreciated - i wish the learning curve was less daunting than it really is for quickly writing apps in scalajs, but I'm starting to get into the swing

Yeah, I'm thinking a lot about what could be done to decrease the necessary surface that you necessarily encounter
there is just a lot of it, between sbt, scalajs, scala itself, react, react wrapper. and then things like material-ui and a material-ui wrapper
it is by far the best i have experienced once you get going, but the initial cost is too large
also if Async is too heavy by the way, you can just cast from ReactNode back to your type I think @moradology
