    @cjfields
    I'm distracted a lot
    Shulas steakhouse?
    Hilmar Lapp
    @hlapp
    Now there's the third fireworks.
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    On my way now. I think the Lounge is separate from the Steakhouse but not sure.
    Robin Andeer
    @robinandeer
    Difficult to find, will walk from Swan :P
    Dave Casey aka Da3v
    @DaveCasey
    I added a blurb to the slides and outcome about the syringe pump I was working on the past few days. Feel free to modify and/or cut it if it is not a good fit/appropriate.
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    Dave, that is so great -- thanks for including it. I'll ping Mike as well on the FamiLAB slack to get his contribution. Thank you again for everything.
    Markus J. Ankenbrand
    @iimog
    Hi, I'm Markus and I will attend this years codefest :smiley:. I just realized that the timetable on the website (https://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Codefest_2017) under logistics has wrong dates (Wednesday July 6th and Thursday July 7th instead of Thursday 20th and Friday 21st).
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    Markus, thanks so much for the heads up. Apologies, bad copy/paste/edit from last year -- I updated it now. Glad you'll be at Codefest this year.
    Markus J. Ankenbrand
    @iimog
    Thanks, I'm looking forward to being there :smiley:

    @stain
    Hi! I just registered for the codefest. Looking forward to see many you (again) in Prague!
    @heuermh - did you decide if you are going in person or doing remote..?
    Spencer Bliven
    @sbliven
    Looking forward to seeing you too @stain! Thanks for the reminder to register myself.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Right! Quite easy now to register for the BOSC Codefest.
    still.. I think it's time for BOSC to move away from ISMB.. 600 EUR for two days!??
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    Especially in Prague, which is not that expensive.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    yeah.. I was at ApacheCon in a rather posh hotel in Budapest, that cost 275 EUR for 3 days (+2 tutorial days if you wanted). ISMB now is 600 EUR for 2 days academic -- up to 1000 EUR for 4 days if you are corporate. And I believe ISCB still have a massive money reserve - $2.1 millions
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    So happy there will be so many people at Codefest and BOSC, I'm looking forward to it. We're currently looking into options for making BOSC cheaper, thanks for letting us know it makes it hard to attend.
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    @chapmanb :+1:
    Michael L Heuer
    @heuermh
    @stain I hope to be able to make it, still confirming travel budget
    Chris Fields
    @cjfields
    I'm very likely participating remotely this year, our state still doesn't have a budget and out-of-state travel is very problematic (I haven't seen any requests granted). My travel expenses are reimbursed from those funds.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Great, @heuermh - understand the budget constraints. At least the hotels are not that expensive..
    You can always telcon, although of course it's not the same..
    @cjfields even out of state is not allowed? :-/
    Chris Fields
    @cjfields
    @stain it's not impossible, just extremely difficult
    but I've basically been told re: out-of-country "Don't bother, they won't approve it"
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    I'm trying to find a hotel that is somewhat inbetween CodeFest location and BOSC .. any advice?
    Spencer Bliven
    @sbliven
    @stain if you find something good, you might want to post it on the wiki so people can coordinate rides
    Hilmar Lapp
    @hlapp
    @cjfields I'll miss you - we had such a great session last year!
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    Stian -- I booked an AirBnb near BOSC for Peter and I. The plan is to take the train up to Codefest the first two days then be able to walk to the conference. The train system between the two is meant to be good and they're not close enough to make staying in between that convenient (unless you have a car, I guess).
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    The locations are split by the historic center, I wouldn't recommend driving.
    Christian Brueffer
    @cbrueffer
    Indeed, public transport in Prague is excellent.
    Evanthia Kaimaklioti
    @code56
    hi. where is the CodeFest location and the timetable for it please? thank you.

    Timetable: 2017-07-20 morning - 2017-07-21 late

    not sure how early we can start? I'll be there from 9 probably.

    The logistics also say from 9am on the Thursday - and finish 18:00 on Friday
    Evanthia Kaimaklioti
    @code56
    many thanks for this. I am looking forward to it.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    @chapmanb what can I use as academic citation for bcbio-nextgen? Just https://github.com/chapmanb/bcbio-nextgen ?
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    That would be perfect. We don't have a paper or pre-print, so the GitHub URL is perfect. I need to move it over to the bcbio organization but it'll redirect so that's all good.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    great
    perhaps a quick submission to Journal of Open Source Software ..? :)
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    Thanks, we'd like to write up and publish at some point but just haven't prioritized it. Hopefully can be a slightly bigger paper with the work put into it.
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    I have the same problem.. but then writing bigger papers take more planning and effort. JOSS papers can be almost like abstracts, but hey, you get a old-school DOI with new-school double-open peer review and open source software.
    Here's one I reviewed about ReproZip: https://doi.org/10.21105/joss.00107
    so not much problem of double-publishing as a 'classic' journal paper would be significantly different
    there's a JOSS talk at BOSC :) by @pjotrp
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    Does anybody know how it is with parking around the brmlab for codefest?
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    ad parking: found this - https://brmlab.cz/place
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    Sorry Martin, missed your question earlier. I don't anything about driving there but sounds like it might be tricky. I've been planning on public transport.
    Martin Cech
    @martenson
    Galaxy folks plan to organize an informal event during the ISMB. If you are interested in getting together for a dinner please let us know by Friday: http://bit.ly/ismbdinnerpoll #usegalaxy
    Brad Chapman
    @chapmanb
    I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next week in Prague. I sent out an e-mail to everyone with logistics and planning: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/openbio-codefest-2017/0QA1xxIIDKo Please ask if you have any questions at all.
    Farah Zaib Khan
    @FarahZKhan
    Thanks for sending the reminder Brad. I have added my name in the provided excel sheet as a participant in the code fest. Is there anything else needs to be done for registration? Cheers
