I'm working on network devices monitoring solution at work. Prototype is written on Python using PySNMP which is awfully slow and stresses CPU a lot with small amount of devices being monitored. So I thought of making some small high-performance SNMP polling server to get rid of PySnmp.
Net-SNMP is not a good choice for SNMPv3 and I don't like Snmp++, so I decided to try writing this server on other languages. Java is not an option (no JVM), so it's Erlang or Haskell (I don't know both of them..).
So. Do you recommend trying your solution and implement this server in Haskell? What pros and cons?
I make library for client, and i make library for snmp agent.
You can use agentx protocol.
Or you can use erlang, it have snmp server and it will be more simple for you.
I am not sure about v1, but i can add this version to library.
anybody using logstash-output-snmptrap plugin? The fix for varbinds is in 0.9.3. But I can't install this latest version into my logstash plugins. Its complaining some weird error when i tried the plugin in logstash-6.0.0
I have a fortimail which I wanted to check the mail's queue via SNMP, any clue?
