Hello all,
What is the standard way to debug a cherrypy app ?
I see 500 response during preflight request from Chrome and I need to understand what is wrong.
Any advice ?

The journal is empty.
I tried to access the documentation on http://docs.cherrypy.org but almost all search request ends up with a nice "Sorry the page does not exist yet" : http://docs.cherrypy.org/en/latest/tutorials.rst.html?highlight=enable%20log
(To make things worse: this is not my application so I have 0 knowledge on Cherrypy... :worried: )

Hi @PYL666 . Sorry your searches are taking you to broken links. Looks like the docs used to publish with an extra .rst in the link. Try instead http://docs.cherrypy.org/en/latest/tutorials.html for tutorials; that works. I expect the searches will eventually index the new form… which is likely an intended consequence of recent changes to simplify the doc deployment settings.
When you say the journal is empty, I’m not sure what that means, but you should be seeing output from your cherrypy server when an error occurs. It should be emitting a traceback in the logs, and that traceback should lead to the cause of the error.
You can also launch your server with environment that shows the traceback in the response (generally discouraged for production environments). See http://docs.cherrypy.org/en/latest/config.html#environments for more on environments.

Also look for the ‘request.show_tracebacks’ setting.
