Newbie here - Where does Chocolatey download and install programs. I can't find Putty on Win 10 - Chocolatey GUI says it it installed

@awakekat the answer is, it depends. Chocolatey is typically a wrapper around the native installer, so the application files will go where they normally live, i.e. program files, etc. In the case of putty, assuming you did choco install putty you are actually going to portable version, so you should find it here C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\putty.portable\tools however, chocolatey will also have created a "shim" for you, so you should be able to simply type putty at the command line, and it will open. If you are actually looking for the installed version of putty, you are going to want to run choco install putty.install
