Right?? Need to get this release out haha. Just need to stop going down tangents xD

ha ha, I know exactly what you mean

Speaking of tangents:
chocolatey/ChocolateyGUI#347
Still will have UAC_Defaults idea of allowing you to set default elevation, but allows UAC elevation without restarting Gui itself.
As well as isolating Chocolatey
(and allows me to fiddle with my side project of an Electron based GUI :3. Uses (Wamp)[http://wamp-proto.org/])

hey @RichiCoder1 and @gep13 - I've started using chocolatey biz (yay! :-)) this week, now I've got some ?weird? messages in chocoGUI when switching feeds...
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:36
Ohh? Which version and what messages?
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:37
blob
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:38
Hmmm. I don't know what to make of that. Though one thing I will note is that of develop-latest, ChocolateyGUI is using the latest choco.lib, so you shouldn't be getting an unofficial warning message :\
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:38
using a ~2 week old merge of develop, my PRs together with framework_overhaul ^^ ..
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:38
I'd do a re-merge with latest. Can't promise it'll fix the issues, but it might make a difference
I'll freely admit that multiple feeds is not something I've given the attention it's deserved.
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:39
the 'unofficial' warning is because I've patched (chocolatey/choco#1047) - I think you already takled this in another Issue?
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:40
I have a PR waiting here chocolatey/choco#1084 but nothing in GUI itself
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:40
yeah, but it'll fix chocolatey.dll (that's what I was referring to with 'I've patched')
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:42
Did you patch & drop in the dll? ChocolateyGUI might be complaining about a version number mismatch
Or signkey mismach
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:42
yup that's what I did
(I'd done anything to stop the config.xml corruption ^^)
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:43
If you just dropped it in rather than dropping the old reference, adding the patched dll as a refernce, and rebuilding chocolateyGUI, it might complain and not like that
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:43
  • we've got a service checking for chocolatey updates and automatically installing a certain selection in the background - that seemed to cause a LOT of trouble in combination with GUI
k, thx - will try!
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:44
I'm about 90% sure that's because choco is very noisy, especially when viewing lists. Lots of concurrent operations which choco was not designed for.
I have a WIP version that reduces that noise somewhat, but that patch should solve the worst of the issues (namely constantly rewriting choco.update to disk)
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
Dec 15 2016 07:45
sadly, but I think @ferventcoder mentioned they are discussing if there should only be one choco.exe allowed to run at a certain time
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Dec 15 2016 07:48
I wouldn't advocate one exe at a time (as the Choco vs ChocolateyGUI issues would be present as ChocolateyGUI uses the lib directly and not the exe), but adding some sort of ReaderWriter lock to to make sure Choco isn't performing destructing operations concurrently wouldn't be a terrible idea.

In related, unrelated news, I may have solved our SVG problem in the most silly way possible
Cef also has an phantomjs-esque offscreen mode that allows you to invisibly render content, and then screenshot it.

noice! :+1:
Richard Simpson

Dec 15 2016 09:59
So I just spin up an offscreen process, set the html the img, and screenshot the result.
And I'll be damned, it works.

But I'm not going to worry about that until I finish moving the cheese around

so this cerf thing - can it take screenshots of the entire desktop? Package-Verifier is needing something like this
Richard Simpson

Dec 15 2016 13:07
Cef? No. Though I can recommend a few good utilites or scripts for caputing the desktop and saving it.

Also SVG - have you seen/used ImageResizer? It's flipping fantastic - https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey.org/blob/master/chocolatey/Website/Services/ImageFileService.cs

Dec 15 2016 13:12
Not only have I seen/used it, I backed the kickstarter for imageflow
I may have to look into that code though. We're just passing images straight through (except svgs) atm. Seems to be working fine but shrug haha
Rob Reynolds

Dec 15 2016 13:15
Shoot - I need to send Nathanael a donation - I would have backed that Kickstarter! :worried:

Hehe, indeed. Easy fix for me would probably be to just record on the 1080p monitor, but I always forgt

ooooh, so pretty!!!!
do you use the default 15fps or lower that down? I ended up deleting a ton of in between images because my mouse was barely moving
