Has anyone considered creating an option to A) detect installed programmes, compare the programme to being in Chocolatey's repository, B) when recognizing its logical location, on the local machine, to have it automatically store that location, for that programme, and know from then on where to install the updates/upgrades.
C) Has there been consideration of allowing a manual option, on where to install the programme/package?
The option to do so, via CLI, and GUI, are desired.

@linuxUsr118 I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're describing, but I'm pretty sure the Pro License has a feature close to what you're talking about

A manual override that will allow me to tell Chocolatey where I want the programme installed; now, if it's a programme that Chocolatey has in its repository, but wasn't installed via Chocolatey, give it an option to know where the installed programme is, and then have Chocolatey take responsibility for the updates/upgrades.

I believe most of this was covered at June 12, 2017 12:16 PM (in case anyone else happens upon this conversation and is interested).

Amen :P
Sadly my own work has been slowed down. I'm about 99% sure the preview build of Windows is breaking my build.

you believe in merging into feature branches or rebases?

I'm not religious about it, but I like the later if only for a cleaner history view for review. (Obviously I haven't done a great job of that with my merges so far.)

Let me know if I should change that if you're already using it.

I saw the numbers you picked and realized I had that same port number marked down (although I was thinking 24626)
I believe
I'll let you know, it is for the central management ui

I can probably just increment the port if it looks to be an issue (which it sounds like it may). Sadly implementing dynamic port selection isn't as easy with this new way I'm doing the subprocess. For context, one change I made with the new WCF is that no matter how many guis you spin up, it'll always start 1 subprocess. Previously it would spin up one for each. Means I'd need to communicate the resident port to each process somehow.
(Though hopefully we just don't run into clashes with a simple port change)

99% of everything was those first two commits indeed.
The rest is all merge and cleanup. Though I feel like gary added something in a latter commit

@gep13 the new properties for sources #425 - do you have that in a separate PR somewhere?

Issue 425: (GH-71) Add Priority to ChocolateySource chocolatey/choco#425
@ferventcoder All the work is there ^. I'm not sure it ever made it into it's own PR>
I think the intent was to merge them
