It's sounds like you already are, but one thing that would be a tremendous help is simply pulling and verifying the latest versions to look for bugs and issue any feedback. Going to be doing an issue purge to close out issues that I'm pretty sure are resolved with this release sometime today.
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
just pulled the latest develop :-)

I'm wondering now if I should redesign that screen...the summary is almost redundant. As well as making the "content" sections background a darker color so they stand out as content.
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@mwallner Haha, now I know you're across the pond thanks to how that Package Size is getting formatted.
Speaking of which, any and all numbers and dates should now be getting properly formatted. Let me know if I missed any.

ha ha, yip, been there

Whoop. ChocolateyGUI.Subprocess is complete and appears to work quite well.
Now just need to add back the elevate-by-default switch.

Trying to find good UI design examples for package managers and running into the fact that most all package manager UIs are butt ugly (albiet by and large functional)
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
I have to say, MSI's compression is deceptively good. Have it turned up to max and I'm getting 36mb msi's for 190mb packages. Not quite our svelete 2.6mb GUI 0.13 packages, but still
In other news, subprocess work is complete. Whoop
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
That is great news!
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Yup. Also redid our installer in a few ways. Much cleaner and address a lot of feedback we got in #209

Gonna work a settings page.
@gep13 Could I possible ask you to tackle figuring out how we're going to handle the version bump?
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
In the middle of a few things today, and out for a family meal tonight, but I will try to take a look at it. What did we decide again? Can you raise an issue, and assign it to me? Thanks!
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@gep13 Done! chocolatey/ChocolateyGUI#349
No rush.

Issues cleaned up and assigned milestones. Though I think I missed a few issues I closed over the past few months.

Is there a build of ChocolateyGUI somewhere from the current source? The mentioned choco install ChocolateyGUI -source https://www.myget.org/F/chocolateygui/ -pre in the readme seems to install an older version (eg. without rebranded UI).
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
@pascalberger hmm, it certainly "should" be there...
@pascalberger hmm, something has changed, but I can't remember the reasoning
try using https://www.myget.org/F/packages_develop/api/v2
rather than what you have above
that should get you the latest/greatest
either our docs need to be updated, or we need to switch to the other feed :-D

Thanks @gep13! This gets me v0.14.0-unstable0143, but installation fails with the following error:
Installing ChocolateyGUI.msi...
WARNING: Write-ChocolateyFailure is deprecated and will be removed in v2. If you are the package maintainer, please use 'throw $_.Exception' instead.
ERROR: Running ["C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe" /i "C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\ChocolateyGUI\tools\ChocolateyGUI.msi" /quiet] was not successful. Exit code was '1603'. See log for possible error messages.
The install of chocolateygui was NOT successful.
Error while running 'C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\ChocolateyGUI\tools\chocolateyInstall.ps1'.

Is this a know issue or should I open a GitHub issue?
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
not a known issue by me, no, but perhaps by @RichiCoder1
did you already have ChocolateyGUI installed?
it could be an issue with upgrading an existing installation
I know that there was some refactoring of the WiX installer as part of the recent work
that might have caused some problems
