Great feedback so far! Thanks :D

@pascalberger
Nothing to thank. You did the work :)

:point_up: December 16, 2016 2:54 AM Summary - I'd say that is good to maybe include on the list view (with fallback to first x lines of description)? And leave it out of the package view.
:point_up: December 18, 2016 2:38 PM COOL!!!

@RichiCoder1
@ferventcoder All auto generated too :). Makes finding and tweaking settings a breeze.

@ferventcoder
nice

@RichiCoder1
@ferventcoder Any idea why I'm not getting "Owners" back from Chocolatey?
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Holy edge cases batman
So, chocolatey doesn't return Owners from the API. And the only reason we were getting that information in the local view previously is because I was reading the package info off disk and merging it with Chocolatey's Feed Results.
Eeeyup. That's exactly what it is.
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
@RichiCoder1 I haven't checked, but is there Maintainers from the Choco API? Owners = Maintainers
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Nah. Maintainers is purely UI parlance. It's all owners under the covers.
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
ok, that makes sense, just wanted to check
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@pascalberger Just pushed a big change that should make sources support more solid. Still pretty happy path atm, but supports Priority and Disabled, as well as editting sources.

@pascalberger
@RichiCoder1 Awesome Thanks! Will give it a try later
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@RichiCoder1 something we need to provide still in the package metadata (it's honestly quite annoying that it is not there)
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
@RichiCoder1 Mmmh, just installed ChocolateyGUI.0.14.0-unstable0152 but couldn't see a difference regarding sources
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
They should be ordered by priority and hide if disabled. Are they not?
Should also have a new tab in settings
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
Nope, neither...
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Wat
One second
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
@RichiCoder1 sounds like the upgrade isn't replacing the existing installed MSI
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@pascalberger Are you just using choco upgrade?
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
I tried choco uninstall first
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Or doing a full uninstall & reinstall?
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
ah wait, after a choco uninstall, there still are two entries in programs & features
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
Well that's just bizzare.
I will note that I don't 100% know the affects of attempting to install a newer msi over an older one out of the unstable line. As far as MSI is aware, you're just repairing (or already installed) ChocolateyGUI. Will need to figure that out at some point....
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
ah, now I got the changes
no idea from where these two entries came from. if I now uninstall the entry in programs & features got removed properly
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
shrug
One of my todos is to spin up a fresh VM and test some install/uninstall/upgrade scenarios.
Pascal Berger
@pascalberger
But I introduced an error in the chocolateyInstall script through chocolatey/ChocolateyGUI#361. chocolatey/ChocolateyGUI#363 will fix it
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
tsk tsk
Though I suppose it's partially my fault for not scrutinizing it more :P
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
hey @RichiCoder1 the new GUI is amazing so far! - just one thing that could possibly be better: if a package install fails, maybe wait until the user get's chance to read/copy the log .. even a 'retry' button?
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@mwallner Gui should be better about letting the user actually read the failure log. Is it not? I'm lukewarm on a retry button though. I have to imagine that, in the grand majority of cases, just retrying won't fix the issues. Especially since Chocolatey has a lot of retry-on-failure built in. So that's not something I want to encorage.
One thing I do need to do, though, is implement cancel.
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@gep13 Random, but thoughts on switching to this: https://github.com/DotNetAnalyzers/StyleCopAnalyzers ?
I've seen at least three recomendations recently, and it would dovetail nicely w/ build work.
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
@richicoder1 yip, I can add that into the Cake build branch. That is my default on projects now.
Manfred Wallner
@mwallner
hey @RichiCoder1 & @gep13 hope you enjoyed the holidays :-) - I'm on the edge of starting localization for choco gui - anything that I should take care of in particular? (going to use Strings.resx if that's ok with you)
Richard Simpson
@RichiCoder1
@mwallner You too! And not that can think of. There should be a localization resx somewhere there already that we're using
Are you familiar with WPF Localization & UIA stuff?
