Stefan Scherer
@StefanScherer
@ferventcoder I've sent you a PR with a fix for the nodejs Chocolatey package. Hope that helps for future automatic packages.
Viktor Elofsson
@vktr
Can you still pack the chocolatey nuspec with nuget?
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
@vktr if you have included some of the new nuspec properties that were included in the latest release of Chocolatey, then no
you will need to use cpack
Viktor Elofsson
@vktr
I see - where can I find a list of the Chocolatey-specific properties? All links at https://github.com/chocolatey/choco/wiki/CreatePackages with a reference to the nuspec file points to nuget (and one to the template file)
Nevermind.. Found the release notes :)
Gary Ewan Park
@gep13
I was just away to say... I don't hink we have an explicit documentation page for it (we probably should have) but it should be covered in release notes
webdawg
@webdawg
can someone approve the new jre8
also can someone tell me how to install an unapproved package?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@webdawg it's not recommended but you can install unapproved pkgs with name and version passed to choco. Be aware that the pkg could potentially change.
Or worse, could do something malicious. Not saying it would, but I'd have trust in only users I know if a pkg hasn't been moderated yet
@vktr choco new will generate a template with choco specific ones - it may even say which are which
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@erkko testing is done and we are in the process of setting up automated testing for all pkgs. that said, things change when pkgs have external download dependencies out of their control. This is done many times due to distribution rights and legalities.
@erkko choco doesn't have a way of knowing about already installed applications as compared to packages yet
If you have apps already installed @erkko And you want to make choco aware of them, you can use the switch for skipping the automated scripts - something like --skip-powershell - see choco install --help for more info
Miodrag Milić
@majkinetor
Sup...
Could I get moderation privileges for the https://chocolatey.org/packages/pandoc package. Authors isn't really active I will like to update it regularly.
Miodrag Milić
@majkinetor
btw, could you set copyq among 'autotrusted'. It is already approved few times and I have provided code to the auto-update package (I don't use 'official' one tho, nevertheless, the result is what is important).
Priyavadan Kumar
@priyavadan
is choco going to support Ruby 2.2.2 installations soon? The current Ruby install is v2.1.6 Is there anyway to look at what packages are waiting mod approval?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
added you to pandoc
@majkinetor ^^ - also maintainers don’t really make decisions on when things go trusted - we look for a few versions of a package with no issues prior to thinking about that
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@priyavadan thanks for the reminder
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@proudcanadianeh which JRE package should not be approved?
Edward Vielmetti
@vielmetti
hey, there's a project 'tidy-html5' https://github.com/htacg/tidy-html5 the venerable 'tidy' program which builds under Windows and supports HTML5 - how hard would it be to get this into chocolatey?
Stefan Scherer
@StefanScherer
@vielmetti Is there a downloadable exe, zip or msi of tidy-html5? Then it would be easy to build a chocolatey package.
aronovgj
@aronovgj
http://www.htacg.org/binaries/
the automatic packages should also be easy to build
Edward Vielmetti
@vielmetti
thanks @StefanScherer @aronovgj I opened up an issue to track this htacg/tidy-html5#259
aronovgj
@aronovgj
wait, on the site it says "experimental binaries" are there stable ones? anyway, if the devs decide to deliver stable binaries it won't complicate things. creating a chocolatey package can be easily integrated in the building process of the binaries.
Edward Vielmetti
@vielmetti
@aronovgj the latest release of source code is tagged as https://github.com/htacg/tidy-html5/releases/tag/5.0.0
Jake Petroules
@jakepetroules
can someone please review my qbs package? https://chocolatey.org/packages/qbs/1.4.2
aronovgj
@aronovgj
@jakepetroules might wanna upload the icon to your github and use the production url from rawgit with the commit-url of the icon.
also icon is a little to big and unsymmetric. 256x256 is a good size
checkso
@checkso
Hi all, can someone take a look at https://chocolatey.org/packages/pdf24/ -> the last approved version is from 2014 and the maintainer is updating the package since then (without approval yet)
Ian O'Brien
@constructdian
hi all, is this the right place for puppet choco questions or can you point me at somewhere more appropriate?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@constructdian you can ask. I can handle both. We also have a puppet-chocolatey room that may be more appropriate
Leeroy
@akaleeroy
:bowtie: n00b here, 'scuse me, is there a way to create a package that installs unattended by scripting in a sequence of button presses?... I'm thinking like AutoHotKey scripts :scroll: or maybe with PowerShell?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
yes - take a look at the github for windows package
Cookie1990
@Cookie1990
is there a way to install Eclipse EE now or is there a workaround? https://chocolatey.org/packages/eclipse-jee-luna
Leeroy
@akaleeroy
@ferventcoder Splendid, cheers! :+1:
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@Cookie1990 what are you asking? The install is not working?
Patrick Magee
@pjmagee
hey guys, im not on Win 10 atm, but does anyone know if they fixed the issue with OneGet and Chocolatey?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@pjmagee it's not yet fixed. It may be a little while
Patrick Magee
@pjmagee
Okay no worries, thanks.
Gerold Katzinger
@kkzinger
hi, are there any documents about the api of the package gallery? I try to write scripts that fetch packages to my local mirror, but at the moment I have a hard time to figure out how I can use the api in a efficient way.
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@kkzinger you should look up nuget odata to learn how the api is set up
Gerold Katzinger
@kkzinger
@ferventcoder thanks for the hint.
aronovgj
@aronovgj
what exactly is the issue with oneget and chocolatey? any links?
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
The provider is not complete. The one that is there is from the original ctp. And the original devloper on oneget has moved on to other projects at MS. So once other things are complete with kickstarter needs, I could focus on it. Or if someone else is interested I could get them started
The room for choco oneget is chocolatey/chocolatey-oneget
Cookie1990
@Cookie1990
@ferwentcoder, no it's not, im getting the same error what is posted in the comments
Rob Reynolds
@ferventcoder
@Cookie1990 Follow up with the maintainer?
