that's no solution to replace it? i've pushed with beta1 as name

@pauby
Once a package is approved then it's immutable. There is no way to push the same version of a package that has already been approved. If you want to 'fix' a package, then use the package fix notation to push a new version.

Hello

who controls the installation via autohkey?

Thank you

@pauby
@SUPRVISOR I'm not sure of your question. Can you be more specific?

@SudharsanSarangarajan
Hello,
I am facing issues while installing Chocolatey in individual install
Have checked with one more machine but same issue
Installation_Errorinmymachine.jpg
Error details are here
I am using Windows 10 Enterprise with OS Build 18363.959
Have changed the TEMP & TMP environment variable path and gave full control for all the users for the folder where the file access denied issue is coming. But error still persists

@pauby

hello, of course I am looking for spybot installed only this one now refuses the online order (/ silent / verysilent) etc)

So I was told to go through an autohkey script, but I don't know much about it. I tried the installation window opens well but I can not do (enter or tab)

@SudharsanSarangarajan Hello
I am a network administrator and I will try to answer you, for the temp folder it is in the c: \ choco directory? if so does this one also have the right rights?
Paul Broadwith
@pauby
@SUPRVISOR Are you trying to install the spybot package or create your own one? If you are trying to simply install the spybot package why are you being told to use Autohotkey?
SUPERVISOR
@SUPRVISOR
@pauby Yes I am trying to install the existing package but in version 2.8 because the 2.7 with / Silent it worked, but no longer with the 2.8 because I am trying to make the package for choco :)
SudharsanSarangarajan
@SudharsanSarangarajan
@SUPRVISOR Yes I have the necessary rights
Paul Broadwith
@pauby
@SUPRVISOR Okay that makes sense. Autohotkey is not part of Chocolatey so we don't have any specific docs around it. You'd need to check the Autohotkey website for those. What I would suggest though is taking a look at some packages that use Autohotkey. I wrote the Veracrypt Autohotkey script some time ago (I'm sure it'#s been updates since then) but it was fairly comprehensive so might be a good place to start.

@SudharsanSarangarajan Ok, what are you using as OS?
Are your users a simple user? with power? local administrator of the machine?

Hello, is there a tag for the packages that are passed on ready state but that can be updated if the installer (same link) is updated?
Paul Broadwith
@pauby
@tunisiano187 Can you elaborate on that?
Tunisiano18
@tunisiano187
I have some package waiting for moderation, but a newer version is out and the link to download is the same, so the previous waiting isn't working anymore, but i can't push the new one
Paul Broadwith
@pauby
@tunisiano187 If you don't want the current one then post a message on the package page to have it rejected.

Hi, is it any way to get warned for changes that imply modifications for the future packages?
As i'm now maintaining nearly 50 packages with the AU, i would like to know when that kind of change append to take action asap. Thank you

So what's the deal with the useRememberedArgumentsForUpgrades config, is it ever getting turn on by default? It's been a preview feature for like 2-3 years now.

The choco feature command shows:

This is considered in preview for 0.10.4 and will be flipped to on by default in a future release.

There is no commitment as to when that will be turned on by default.

For example, i would like to know if there is a change to keep my packages up-to-date. For example the MD5 to sha256 uptade, or the deprecation of some commands like the Get-bintools.
Is there a mailling list, a feed or something that will only be linked to the changes, no other informations (i'm already receiving many emails)
Paul Broadwith
@pauby
The Chocolatey Announcements list will give you information on new updates for Chocolatey software.

@chtof
@tunisiano187 Maybe you can have a script to export installer URL and sha256 and another to check if there are still correct. It depends if you need to do that often. It should consumes less system resources than asking Chocolatey platform to relaunch all checks.

some one help me I am unable to install Brave via choco
dgalbraith
@dgalbraith

Are there any established conventions for packaging software that relies on a JVM? It seems the available JVM distributions have proliferated and I have arrived at a view that there are really only perhaps 2 sensible options:

  1. Embed a JRE with the package install and make it completely self-contained; or
  2. Document the Java dependency in the Packge Notes and leave it with the user to have an appropriate JVM of their choice available on the path

I am leaning towards 2. as being the best approach but thought I would check in to see if there are any other conventions / views?

Paul Broadwith
@pauby
@parasudilip Can you explain what you have done, what errors you are getting or what is not working?
@dgalbraith Number 2 is the option that I see used most often. In fact if somebody submits a package with a dependency on 'JavaA' I will ask if 'JavaA' is actually required or just 'Java' and if it's 'Java' let the user decide on that.

What can I do when publishing stucks somehow? Last update was on 24 Jul 2020 and all checks passed but still not approved? 🤔
Curtis Carter
@digitalcoyote
@TGotwig it takes time since all the reviewers are volunteers. New packages for me usually take 2 weeks to a month to get through the first version. Eventually a package may be marked as trusted which speeds up the process. You can see your packages position in their queue using the moderation filter in search on chocolatey.com
