So to summarize, for now, manually changing the package version back to the current version number, and re-submitting sounds like a good approach for now. Then once everythig is good, the package will be approved, and then your automation can kick in for subsequent package versions.
it looks like it passed almost all the checks; now just yellow with some (erroneous?) virus detections on our binary. If that needs to be fixed, I'd love any tips - I'm digging around now.
Hello. I'm currently having an issue with Telegram Desktop (Install).
Whenever I upgrade it, it rolls back as a fresh install. Yeah, it resets all the settings and logs out like I wasn't logged in either.
It happens every time I upgrade it via Choco.
Is this a known issue? I have to sign in again in order to have everything back. Then set up all the options and settings again.
Is there a workaround to circumvent this?
If you need logs or anything like that, I'm available to help this out.
Also, if possible...
Is there a way to list the package Choco webpage's link via CLI?
That is, something like:
choco list putty
And as a result:
Packages found: putty vXX.YY.ZZ - https://chocolatey.org/packages/putty.install
With some other argument it would return the webpage link on Choco's package search/details pages.
I'm asking this because I just started using Windows Terminal and it allows direct links clicking in order to browse to the webpage.
Is that possible?
And, I just remembered something...
Is there a way to disable the package upgrading from re-adding the icons to the desktop? Is that a package specific feature?
It adds most of packages icons back to the desktop, it's annoying to have them deleted every time they are upgraded.
if the new installation source is still available then you may still be able to use Chocolatey. If it's gone then there isn't much that can be done. @mkevenaar any thoughts (I'm thinking the Microsoft Terminal package)?
The Microsoft Terminal package is also published on GitHub, therefore we can use that as a source. However, there is AFAIK no way to install software that is stored in Windows App Store using Chocolatey /cc: @RalfEs73
