Lars Andersen
@expez
Can you confirm, @sound2gd?
Chris Wang
@sound2gd
I confirm that I got no java class's output in *nrepl-server <project-name>* buffer
Lars Andersen
@expez
That's where it ended up for me when I copied your code
very strange
are you using leiningen or boot?
Chris Wang
@sound2gd
leiningen is what i am using
in terminal I can get that output ,but in cider buffer I got nothing,is that something I set wrong?
Lars Andersen
@expez
It might not be your fault, but a bug or a bad interaction between 'stuff'
Does this happen in a project including various logging libraries?
Chris Wang
@sound2gd
I didn't use logging libraries
just learning clojure basics about how to interact with java classes
and confused about my output
Lars Andersen
@expez
Aight, I think you'll have to open a bug against cider-nrepl if you want this problem solved. It sounds like a bug to me.
Chris Wang
@sound2gd
@expez thank u :)
matthew harwood
@matthewharwood
lol anyone help me with dumb question? Learning a lot at once I don't really know clojure or emacs
but how do you open up the clojure repl from spacemacs?
To open the repl just push SPC m s I
Lars Andersen
@expez
@matthewharwood hit those keys on your keyboard
SPCmeans space, the big button down in the middle of your keyboard
Bozhidar Batsov
@bbatsov
@matthewharwood maybe starting out with spacemacs wasn't the best idea then - they overrride pretty much every default keybinding with vi-style keybindings; if you're not familiar with vim it makes everything extra confusing...
mccraigmccraig of the clan mccraig
@mccraigmccraig
and if you chose to run spacemacs in 'emacs (holy) mode rather than vi (evil) mode then you have the added confusion of translating every occurence of SPC in the docs to meta-m (which will be either alt-m or cmd-m if you are on osx)
John Stevenson
@jr0cket
@matthewharwood I'm writing a Spacemacs for Clojure tutorial that may help https://practicalli.github.io/spacemacs/
@mccraigmccraig I used Spacemacs in holy (Emacs) mode for 6 months and found the docs easy to follow, but yes you need to remember that the Spacemacs menu is under M-x and not the space bar
John Stevenson
@jr0cket
@bbatsov the Emacs keybindings from are available in Spacemacs, even when you are in Evil / Vi mode. I still sometimes use C-x C-s to save instead of SPC f s
Alexander Yakushev
@alexander-yakushev
@bbatsov Hey, do you think we can deprecate ac-cider now?
matthew harwood
@matthewharwood
if I need to require a ns like (require 'clojure.set)
how do I run in cider repl
(= #{1 2 3 4 5} (clojure.set/union #{1 2 3} #{2 3 4})
currently running SPC m s f
but it fails
WARNING: Use of undeclared Var clojure.set/union at line 1 <cljs repl>
org.mozilla.javascript.EcmaError: TypeError: Cannot read property "union" from undefined (rhino.clj#41)
matthew harwood
@matthewharwood
I can add it manually to the repl
wondering if I can trigger the one fuction and bring it with it
as one unit
for repl driven development
Lars Andersen
@expez
WARNING: CIDER's version (0.15.0-snapshot) does not match cider-nrepl's version (nil). Things will break!
I get this in the REPL after upgrading CIDER, but everything seems to work fine :/

@NikolaMandic
does anyone know more about cider-find-or-create-repl-buffer
I had some config and it worked before
now it stopped
so I was wondering did cider got updated
Ahmad Ragab
@ASRagab
Hello how can I de-instrument a function call for the debugger i.e. how do I undo SPC m d b
Ah okay I think I found it C-c C-c any other ways, just curious?
Sean Allred
@vermiculus
@ASRagab That looks like a spacemacs key sequence, but under a normal keymap I think you'd just C-M-x (cider-eval-defun-at-point)
Brian Fay
@brianfay

I'm crossposting from the cider slack channel, does anybody else see an issue when trying to eval
(keyword "\"|")

in cider? I'm personally using spacemacs, and seeing an error kinda like this with a big regex:

error in process filter: Search failed: "\(\s-\|^\|#\|(\|\[\|{\)\(\"\)"

mccraigmccraig of the clan mccraig
@mccraigmccraig
@brianfay also in spacemacs, i see the same error
evals fine in a plain repl, so i guess it's a cider issue
Benedek Fazekas

@hugoduncan any chance you can have a look on this: pallet/alembic#16 ?
