I would ask "How is everyone doing today?" but since you're probably the only one responding ill say, how are you doing? :P

good lol I've been looking for a reddit-based chat system because someone on the public request page reminded me that not everyone has a GitHub account. If I can't find a suitable one, I may just have to make my own.

Yeah, I know lol oh well
An Express server using Socket.IO for 2-way communication and a Passport authentication system using Reddit's OAuth API is good practice, though.
Oh, and serving Angular2, of course lol

My Ubuntu server pretty much shit itself, so I've been spending the better half of the night backing up files (mostly torrents. Actually, 769GB of torrents) and installing packages in a fresh install.

Well, this is the third (or fourth, can't remember) time I've had to do a fresh install of an ubuntu server. This time, it was because I wanted to get some Kali Linux tools on it, and stupidly used "katoolin" which is a worthless python script that adds the kali package repositories to my sources.list and runs apt-get update

and of course, just like every other time, the most difficult thing to set up is my torrent system. I run all my torrenting through a Deluge server on my Ubuntu server, with an nginx subdomain reverse proxy directing me to the web ui. The stupid web ui is being an ass.

Its the most amazing thing when it wants to work. Peering into its inner workings reminds me of the Nazi's face melting off in Indiana Jones. When it doesn't want to work, it shits all over the floor and stares at you while you clean up its mess.

WAIT I THINK ITS WORKING NOW
Fuck. Upstart is being a little bitch.

Apr 04 2016 08:55 UTC
SHIT YEAH. I set it up to fork the process instead of running in foreground (sort of foreground. Its foreground to Upstart, not to the actual terminal. It allows for the service to be restarted or stopped at will.) but it works now
Now to just get ACL up and running so that I can use my media server and FTP with it

Media server is up and running. All that's left is:
  • FTP
  • ACL for access between Deluge and Plex (torrenting and media server)
  • SSH for Cloud9

Not for me. My alarm clock is loud enough that the designers added a "distress beacon" feature.
Also, I didn't know there was another subreddit. Think I could get in?
