    I wasn't aware of it being designed for Rubinius
    Ah: "Second, Puma is designed to be used on a Ruby implementation which provides true parallelism, such as Rubinius and JRuby."
    Right there on puma.io
    Baris Balic
    @barisbalic
    It still does well on MRI as you've probably noticed from what you said before
    I'll give it a try some time soon.
    Daniel Barber
    @danbee
    Rubinius is interesting though, going to have to learn more :)

    Im tempted to write a transparent image-caching proxy backed by redis. Someone talk me out of it
    Daniel Barber
    @danbee
    No Procfile, which means it's probably running on Webrick
    Despo Pentara
    @despo
    i did the bare minimum, so yes default setup.
    my experience with heavy app prod releases on heroku is not great i have to admit.
    Daniel Barber
    @danbee
    No worries
    At a minimum you want to be moving off Webrick
    It's only really designed for development
    Despo Pentara
    @despo
    @danbee released the patch on staging. crashing, do i need a PORT variable setup?

    Daniel Barber
    @danbee
    I'm trying a fix.
    Sorted!
    The Procfile wasn't set to pick up the puma.rb config file

    Hello all, will be coming through to help where I can on Wednesday in London. Looking forward to meeting you :)
    Despo Pentara
    @despo
    Hi @dan-mi-sun it will be great to have you around!
    Alex Jahraus
    @fanaugen
    Now this is REALLY off-topic. But if you like hiking and want to see the green outskirts around London, enjoy the beautiful British weather and breathe some non-polluted air, come join a jolly bunch of friendly CouchSurfers this Sunday for the first section of the LOOP London Outer Orbital Path. Info at https://www.couchsurfing.org/n/events/london-loop-walks-london

    @dan-mi-sun
    @despo thanks for the warm welcome :)

    @barisbalic
    @fanu
    @fanaugen rather, that sounds pretty cool, thanks for the info.
    Just saw the date, that's not gonna happen :(
    Alex Jahraus
    @fanaugen
    @barisbalic this is a repeating series of walking events, we’ll try and cover a section of the LOOP every fortnight, see http://j.mp/1kV2M02

    @kaichanvong
    Just did a quick CMD+F of email in this room and saw no mention of this. In the email I received today (Workshop Coach Invitation Wed, 30th July at 18:30) there's no href='X' for "How to be an effective teacher."
    Also noticed a link in the email footer to the twitter account is incorrect and points to the old account (by_codebar) and not codebarHQ. Wonder if there's an issues thing/look for a git repo for emails to contribute/fix later tonight :)
    Kai Chan Vong
    @kaichanvong
    Errr... and the email I received an hour ago is for the 30th of July. Hmmm. Wonder if my mail is being funny or something.
    Baris Balic
    @barisbalic
    @kaichanvong you can't CMD+F will only search loaded text, you may need to scroll up to get a match
    Despo Pentara
    @despo
    It is for the 30th..
    The repo is on github under codebar/planner. PRs appreciated, I probably
    ..missed something :)
    But let me get back to you in a bit because I'm AFK right now
    Dan Hassan
    @dan-mi-sun
    @despo is there any space for a tutor this weds 20th?
    If so, I would be excited to come along and help.
    Despo Pentara
    @despo
    @dan-mi-sun not for tomorrow :(. I do try to keep a waiting list but if someone drops out the spots is open to anyone to RSVP, so I would keep an eye on the invitation page.
    Dan Hassan
    @dan-mi-sun
    thanks!
    Alex Jahraus
    @fanaugen
    Dear fellow codebarians, I apoligize for being really #offtopic here, but is there any chance one of you lives within walking distance of Liverpool St. station and has a couch I could crash on Wednesday night (Oct 8)? I have a ridiculously early flight to Prague from Stansted on Thursday morning, so if I went home to Southwest London after Codebar, and then back northeast to catch the 4.40am train, I’d have less than three hours of sleep... It would be fantastic to cut the buses out of the equation and sleep a little longer instead. Thanks in advance!

    @chihchunchen
    For coaches of Codebar Cambridge, just to let you know there are some paid tutor opportunities with Cambridge Coding Academy (http://www.cambridgecodingacademy.com/). Here are the details: http://cambridgecoding.com/pdf/TutorCCA.pdf
    sas
    @sasstevens
    Probably a very silly question, but is there any particular skillset that's missing for the coaches down in Brighton, or are you guys completely oversubscribed with everything? I'd really like to get involved, and thought it'd be more useful if there were some tutorials I paid more attention to familiarising myself with!
    Alex Pounds
    @creature
    @sasstevens that seems like a good question to me! I don't know the answer, but you might want I ask in #codebar/tutorials as I think there's more people hanging out in there.
    sas
    @sasstevens
    @creature appreciated! wasn't sure if it quite counted as ontopic! cheers

    workshape.io are looking for people to complete their survey on what are the most important factors to you when looking for a job as a developer. 3000 + have filled in the survey so far and only 3% have been completed by women. Ideally they would like their survey to be more representative. Please complete and share - https://workshape.typeform.com/to/PrMLrh
