we are eager to restart the talks, a lot of students liked them
are codebars only on Wednesdays?
@nikeshashar In London we hold them weekly on Wednesdays, and occasionally have one-day events at the weekend throughout the year. I think Brighton holds theirs every 2 weeks on Tuesdays. I’m not sure about Cambridge.
If you sign up on the website you can join the mailing list for the chapter closest to you, and you’ll get email invites to each event.
Okay @matyikriszta , i'll send you a preview of slides if you wish during tommorow...
@knuxus, excellent, thanks for doing it!
love your work
@nikeshashar@creature Brighton is weekly on Tuesdays these days.
@davegurnell Neat! Thanks for the info. :)
Thanks for letting us know @fanaugen. Good book suggestion as well 😀
hey guys any spots left for tonight for students?
My friend @goncalosm trying to snatch it...
Right now the workshop looks full up, I’m afraid.
Ah, those last minute seat snipers...
well probably nearer the workshop we'll see if it gets any better..
I've been assured it's not a silly question, but is there any particular skillset that's missing for the coaches down in Brighton, or are you guys completely oversubscribed with everything? I'd really like to get involved, and thought it'd be more useful if there were some tutorials I paid more attention to familiarising myself with!
@Rosa-Fox can you help?
@sasstevens even though I'm guessing that it's similar to London. We always have HTML demand so the first set of tutorials are important, less in JS, and usually even less in Ruby
and more rarely other languages, with Python I think being highest on demand.
@sasstevens I've only attended 3 Brighton events so far, but I think most areas were covered. There are a few people doing things there aren't tutorials for such as processing. There are plenty of students working through html & css tutorials, quite a few on JS and a couple of people are learning ruby.
I'm trying to get onto the waiting list and getting ~"The page you are looking for cannot be found."
@oluoluoxenfree that seems to happen every now and then, but I'm not sure why. The requests is and should be a 'post' and not 'get' - but sometimes the app gets confused and processes it as a GET which is why that happens.
huh, weird. Learning all about REST this week at my bootcamp, mindblown lol
Katie Willow Martin
hi i work for Madgex , just wondering if you needed any help tonight im a developer here and have free time ?
@KatieWillowMartin hi Katie, not sure if anyone from the Brighton group is around. It should not be an issue but could you email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of the organisers should let you know for sure!
Katie Willow Martin
@KatieWillowMartin Sorry we missed your message yesterday! Extra help is always welcome. The next event is next Tuesday at the Skiff, just around the corner from you.
