@nikeshashar@creature Brighton is weekly on Tuesdays these days.
@davegurnell Neat! Thanks for the info. :)
Thanks for letting us know @fanaugen. Good book suggestion as well 😀
hey guys any spots left for tonight for students?
My friend @goncalosm trying to snatch it...
Right now the workshop looks full up, I’m afraid.
Ah, those last minute seat snipers...
well probably nearer the workshop we'll see if it gets any better..
I've been assured it's not a silly question, but is there any particular skillset that's missing for the coaches down in Brighton, or are you guys completely oversubscribed with everything? I'd really like to get involved, and thought it'd be more useful if there were some tutorials I paid more attention to familiarising myself with!
@Rosa-Fox can you help?
@sasstevens even though I'm guessing that it's similar to London. We always have HTML demand so the first set of tutorials are important, less in JS, and usually even less in Ruby
and more rarely other languages, with Python I think being highest on demand.
@sasstevens I've only attended 3 Brighton events so far, but I think most areas were covered. There are a few people doing things there aren't tutorials for such as processing. There are plenty of students working through html & css tutorials, quite a few on JS and a couple of people are learning ruby.
I'm trying to get onto the waiting list and getting ~"The page you are looking for cannot be found."
@oluoluoxenfree that seems to happen every now and then, but I'm not sure why. The requests is and should be a 'post' and not 'get' - but sometimes the app gets confused and processes it as a GET which is why that happens.
huh, weird. Learning all about REST this week at my bootcamp, mindblown lol
Katie Willow Martin
hi i work for Madgex , just wondering if you needed any help tonight im a developer here and have free time ?
@KatieWillowMartin hi Katie, not sure if anyone from the Brighton group is around. It should not be an issue but could you email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of the organisers should let you know for sure!
Katie Willow Martin
@KatieWillowMartin Sorry we missed your message yesterday! Extra help is always welcome. The next event is next Tuesday at the Skiff, just around the corner from you.
cool! thanks @creature@despo :) @nikeshashar yup i got back on sunday
Does anyone have any spare time to help with the Codebar app - we need to move away from Cloudinary, prob to AWS, as we'v exceeded the limit and has too high a cost for me to even consider.
If you do please drop me an email at email@example.com - or else if i dont get time the website may look a bit weird after the 23rd.
There’s an issue for it on Github, if anyone has questions/feedback/wants to take it on: codebar/planner#193
is anyone here based in NY? Will be announcing our first couple of Codebar NY workshops soon!
no but i lived there for 4 yrs & can put you in touch w some devs i know if you need!
@deniseyu thank you! There should be an email in your inbox.
@despo Sorry but tomorrow won't be able to attend. Today got some really bad temperature :( Just modified my attendance confirmation on the website as well.
@jnardiello thanks for letting us know, get better soon!
Hey, this week's invite for Brighton, in gmail in FF 36, the logo for the company covers up the 'view/RSPV' button. Not sure if it's happening for anyone else, might be a thing for @Rosa-Fox?
@sasstevens Cant say I notice that on my android phone? Where did you see it out of interest?
Hey. Sad to say, but I must bid adieu. I am off to Cape Town to enjoy the warm & sunny climate and try to make something happen in their awesome start-up scene. I've enjoyed being part of CodeBar, albeit not for a very long time.
On a more practical note, is there a way to "unsign-up" from the Coaches list?
