    Hi, Brian. I have a question about "setTimeout." I created a while loop to sort a deck of cards. When I included "setTimeout," it creates infinite loop. Do you have any suggestions? Here is my code below.
    var sort = function() {
    has_moved = true
    while(has_moved) {
    has_moved = false
    for (i = 0; i < $('li').length; i++) {
    var first_item = $('li').eq(i)
    first_item.addClass('highlight');
    $('li').eq(i+1).addClass('highlight');
    if (parseInt(first_item.attr('id')) > parseInt($('li').eq(i+1).attr('id'))) {
    $('li').eq(i+1).after(first_item);
    has_moved = true
    }
    }
    }
    }

    if you want it to repeat, you should use setInterval
    if you want it to perform a function once after a set amount of time, you should use setTimeout
    Here is a bit of detail on how to go about that
    My suggestion if you want the while loop to move at a slowed down pace, replace the while loop with a setInterval
    and remember to use clearInterval() when you reach a stopping point

    Thank you. It looks like it's working......

    FYI Lindy is saying we either have to test out of the GitHub class or attend. Any idea how I test out?
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    I guess link to your github? Ask her for details
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    Id recommend the class honestly, there are a lot of concepts in there that we didnt really touch on like branching, merging, pull requests etc
    Matthew Conquergood
    @kristjin
    you mean for JS?
    oh, you mean for github
    ugh, it's 8 hours!
    I don't wannaaaa.... :)
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    Thats what the DA is gonna be
    Buckle up
    Matthew Conquergood
    @kristjin
    Yeah, I don't mind 8 hours a day for the DA
    but these are always on a Saturday. boo
    If I can just test out, I'll do t hat before the Python F2

    I did finally get a reply back from Linday who is going to take care of moving me over to the Python class.
    If you know anyone who was interested in JS but missed it, I'm leaving it, so they could possibly get my spot.
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    maybe let the general class chat know

    So I just turned in my last project. IT's not very pretty but it works. I noticed i missed the last attendance quiz, of course. Maybe you could update that last one for me. :) It's been a real pleasure to work with you!
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    Got it.
    It was a pleasure working with all of you as well.

    @kristjin
    Hey Brian, I didn't see my actual growth plan there... can you help with that? Thanks!
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    You should be able to see them when you log in to the app thing now.
    Matthew Conquergood
    @kristjin
    All I get is "there was a problem signing in." Not sure what's going on there...
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    Ok I will talk to Dale, the one who got it up and running for us.
    Also just to check was the login and pw correct?
    Matthew Conquergood
    @kristjin
    I believe it was - I use LastPass, so probably - but I didn't see anywhere for me to reset my PW.
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    Ok so Dale said this
    The code for this is done, pending review. As soon as it is approved, when they login, it will take them to the PGP instead of the survey.
    So they should be available once the code is actually in place!
    Sorry for the confusion!
    They were made manually before this, but the most recent JS Dev Accel course had a group that put this app together, but it was not yet feature complete
    So Dale has been finishing the code for it, we had to wait to be able to make them for example, but after this final step is completed then you will be able to see them
    I will make a new comment on everyones when that happens
    Again, apologies for the confusion and the delay!
    Matthew Conquergood
    @kristjin
    No worries at all. Thanks for the backup.
    Brian Caldwell
    @Caldwerl
    I could PM you it if you wanted
    It would just be my responses though without seeing your answers
