@twiss what about the WYSIWYG distortion?
I will check those. I did not realize that you already had a string
Which do you like beter: "Select style" or "Format block?"

Right. Well there is the black/white swap, the image distortion, color distortion, and the contrast reduction if we do that. IMO the first of those is kind of obvious and the user will turn off night mode if they care about the exact appearance. For images, we could hint them to do so by visibly darkening (or something) images
One argument against "Format block" is that "Remove formatting", when we implement it, is unlikely to reset this. Also other word processors call it just "Style" I think

Your point makes sense.
If other processors call it style, let's follow suite
Would darkening the images have a performance hit?

I noticed FFOS and Chrome Android implement theme-color too, cool. I think it would be a good idea to copy FFOS's implementation as much as possible, so transition, maybe foreground color too, that's less important though. Chrome also generates a lighter variant of the color

I don't know about the performance hit

Ok. We're already doing some filtering, so I don't suspect it would make much of a difference

Which would you prefer between accurate images (no color distortion) and dimmed images?
It depends a bit on how interesting the images are to the reader, I think.

I would prefer accurate images
