I'm not sure. If you're only editing one small thing, sure, but otherwise you'd want to save more often, and pressing the check mark and then focusing again is a pretty annoying way to save. On the other hand we might indeed want to preserve a bit more bandwidth

FFOS has an API for updating only part of a file, but Dropbox doesn't, and neither does Airborn OS

Good thoughts. IMO the checkmark just seems to indicate "Keep my changes"
A while ago, we thought of disabling auto save on metered connections (Firefox OS has an API)

Yeah. One alternative is put the save button on top of the checkmark, so you can save without blurring, and then to hide the keyboard you press there twice (once the save button and then the checkmark). Slightly different trade off, not sure it's worth the complexity though.

Hmm, that seems a bit confusing
Although, it's a good idea to have the save button in the toolbar
If auto save is disabled

Yeah, I'm getting a bit worried about toolbar space though, especially with the new things we want to add. We might want to go back to hiding some things like strikethrough and horizontal line behind another button, but still it'd be nicer to have the whole width of the screen for the toolbar
