In line of ^, are you sure you want codexa/firetext@ac4c832 even after we add a font select?

Also, the most logical place of the remove formatting button in terms of what formatting it removes would be after the (font and) alignment select. However that place draws a lot of undeserved attention to the button, although I think it's not a bad idea to separate the selects with some buttons

In response to your first message: I believe that the width limitation caused some visual issue (text overflowing out of the select or something)
I'm fine with revisiting that. Maybe, adding an ellipsis
I placed the remove formatting button where it is because it only removes the basic styles (bold, italic, underline, etc...)
It does not change font or alignment

It does change alignment for me

There was an ellipsis, which browser did you try?
Yeah, Chrome. Indeed not Firefox

I used Firefox OS
We should probably customize the removeFormat function so that it removes everything (font, formatting, headers, alignment, etc...)

Yeah, although I don't think it should remove headers

GDocs and LibreOffice have two different buttons: "remove (direct) formatting", and "styles" / "apply style" -> "normal text" / "clear formatting"

So what should our button remove?
Daniel Huigens
@twiss

LibreOffice "clear formatting" also removes direct formatting, GDocs "normal text" doesn't
I'd say all inline styles

Although then we should actually make selecting multiple paragraphs and titles -> style -> paragraph work, currently it kind of wraps everything in one paragraph or something

contenteditable is in a sorry state
I once tried to implement an editor without it...that's hard
