@PMassoels sorry I got a temporary replacement computer and hadn't set up gitter yet
so as for the ca_application_vars thing, my guess is you were trying to install in Safari ... Safari is trying to be clever and pre-loads a URL before you autocomplete it from your history
so if you're trying to navigate to your installer with overwrite=1, it'll actually send a request that starts the installer. when you hit enter you start another one. the interleaving usually doesn't work out, so you get this error. happens to me all the time :-)
one quick Cmd-R usually helps
The ca_commerce_order_history bundle was killed, yes. Just remove it from your profile
and then no idea what the ItemService error is about. haven't seen that one. can you still reproduce that?

@letsferrera what exactly are you trying to do? You created a CollectiveAccess import mapping for the data importer and it doesn't work?
We've done FM imports in the past, yes -- but each one is different

@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 00:18
sorry, no -- not really. I'm more on the backend side, haven't really dabbled in Pawtucket2 too much. That's @pinkfishies domain!

@stefankeidel yes, I'm trying to creating a CA import mapping but it doesnt generate rules after I try it
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 00:21
by rules you mean database records?
for this kind of stuff it usually helps to look at the mapping. can you maybe open a thread on the forum and post the mapping and some example data so someone who knows the import framework better than I do can take a look?
Julia and Jonathan are usually on top of that
oh
I see you actually made one already!
add some example data and the mapping you're using if you can
Letícia Ferreira
@letsferrera
Mar 02 2016 00:26
I just added the mapping

btw @stefankeidel by watching what happens when the import runs I see that no rules were created after it read in the excel file... does this help? thanks!

Hi @kehh , Jess here. I'm just a front-end user of collectiveaccess which is running in our museum. I've just got a quick question, are we able to add related objects using idno as well as titles?
Kehan Harman
@kehh
Mar 02 2016 05:30
Yes, @jessica-sanguesa the autocomplete uses the object search index which is configured in search-indexing.conf, and idno is included by default for object searches (as well labels and most related tables and all the fields). But there are some gotchas regarding special characters in idno fields.

Mar 02 2016 08:48
Any idea if it should be possible to add representations in a quick add form? I'm trying to add representations to an occurrence that I'm quick adding from an object, and the files seem to disappear.
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 13:17
@kehh not sure. I think @collectiveaccess spent a bunch of time figuring out the async file upload for the quickadd forms back when this was added but it might have broken since then, who knows
@docudoc there really isn't one. all these projects we're working on move too fast. you can use it as is though -- it works and we've had people running it in production for years
Kehan Harman
@kehh
Mar 02 2016 14:51
@stefankeidel @collectiveaccess it appears to upload - a message about 'uploading files' appears at the top of the quick add form (I can't remember the exact text), so it seemed like there was wiring around to do this. I'll look into it when I get in tomorrow.

@samrahman For a homepage like that you'd need to do something custom
You can code a search within the view to grab exhibitions (occurrences I assume?) based on the value in your data field.
Alternatively you can create sets for each of the content sections you want to display (upcoming/current/past) and populate the areas that way
It depends if you want your homepage to be completely automated, or if you want some control over what appears there

@kehh The quick add uses a few tricks to get representations and other files to upload in an ajax context. Last I checked it all worked. We have a few very loud users who rely upon this capacity, so I am surprised we haven't heard something it it's indeed broken.
I'll try it now and see. Let me know what environment(s) are broken for you. Perhaps some of the tricks are failing in certain browsers.
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
Mar 02 2016 19:43
@kehh Yup it's broken
I'll have a fix in develop later today
thank you for calling attention to this!
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
Mar 02 2016 20:00
ok there's a fix for this in develop and master-fix
I realize now that the users that depend on this are using it for media attributes, not representations
in any event the ticket is PROV-1540

Hi, Im very very very new to collectiveaccess, just installed made the changes and white screen of death?
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 21:06
Hi @theonlytexaspete ! The white screen of death means there was some kind of PHP error and display_errors is set to Off or 0 in your php.ini config file
Can you take a look at your Apache error log? Whatever error occurred should have been logged there

ha ha, it's 9 am here ;)
Could you please help me on how can I set LDAP in providence? can't seem to find documentation for CA on google search
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 22:35
Most of the documentation is inline in authentication.conf
we should really write that up some time
i'll have a look on the php file
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 22:36
no I mean look at the stock authentication.conf file that comes with CA
there are a bunch of comments kind of explaining what each setting does
@kehh worked on the ActiveDirectory implementation as far as I know
Sami Rahman
@samrahman
Mar 02 2016 22:37
If I put the ldap configs, should it work..or do I have to enable anything else from setup.php?
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 22:37
I only ever used the OpenLDAP one, but we have a couple of clients using it every day
Nope, just change the adapter near the top of the file
from CaUsers to whatever
Probably OpenLDAP
Sami Rahman
@samrahman
Mar 02 2016 22:38
right...thanks @stefankeidel , the good thing is our data import is finally over
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 22:39
Setting up LDAP can be frustrating because each directory is different and there's really no way to tell what's going on without having access to the directory service
Sami Rahman
@samrahman
Mar 02 2016 22:39
@jessica-sanguesa might ask you front-end administration questions time-to-time, but not much technical
Stefan
@stefankeidel
Mar 02 2016 22:39
so don't expect this to work out of the box :)
Sami Rahman
@samrahman
Mar 02 2016 22:40

Stefan

It's all in app/lib/core/Auth
