@stefankeidel Hello! I put in a request for date formatting in the date picker and @collectiveaccess (seth?) said it's in test. I guess I need to know how to clone CA's test repository. thank you

No idea. I don't believe that's made it into develop yet

It's in the develop branch
then checkout develop
You could also just grab this file: app/lib/ca/Attributes/Values/DateRangeAttributeValue.php from develop and drop that into your install. Should work.

hi, just trying to access the CA wiki but it seems to be down. Where do you add / use 'user tags' ? I'm setting up access controls for museum staff but this element is not visible on our interface (As far as I can see) and I can't see it on the metadata elements list.

The server running the wiki has a bad drive and is rebuilding
Should be back up in about an hour
Regarding user tags, are you referring to user contributed content in Pawtucket?

It's on Providence - I just saw it in Manage > Access Control > Actions > User Generated Content > Manage user tags

Also what is the 'inspector panel' ? Manage > Access Control > Actions > Object editing > Can see current location of object in inspector - PS let me know if I should just wait until the wiki is up and running :)

Hi the wiki just went back up
but I can still try to answer your questions...
Regarding access controls you'll need to give those users privs via a role
If you check "manage user tags" in a role, and give your users that role they should start seeing the option
Note that the menu bar is cached, so if you change the role users that are logged in might not see it for a bit
The "inspector" is the info display in the upper left hand corner of the record editing screens
For objects, it's the rectangle that shows title, thumbnail images and has buttons to do various tasks like duplication, change of type, etc.

Ah ok no worries @collectiveaccess , appreciate your help, thanks. Just finally, where do the user tags appear once you check that option?

Another Providence Access Role question @collectiveaccess - We would like the museum staff who are not cataloguers (e.g. director) to have read only access to everything but not able to edit. I selected 'read only' for all the metadata elements in Access Control but it seems to only show the elements related to the saved system displays I've created. Am I missing a step?

hello again. If I were to delete a metadata element I created, I guess this would also delete the table field? just want to confirm this is the case. thanks again

me again.... Is it possible to customize the summary screen? When viewing an object, there's a summary section at the bottom. But when I looked at the UI for object, there's nothing there. thanks

@jessica-s you can also change the access level for the individual user interfaces by allocating group / role based access to each user interface, and specifying 'Read' access rather than 'Edit' access. This means that all the fields in those UI's become readonly.
@mrjayviper The summary screen is a 'Display'. At the top right there should be a drop down of available displays for that particular record type. To edit these you need to visit Manage > My displays or a new <display/> element in your installation profile.

Any idea if it's possible to rename Other forenames(from the other_fornames field in ca_entity_labels) to Initials (ie a string override)? I thought I saw something like that in one of the config files, but can't find it now.
?

@kehh No, those are hardcoded. The only way to override is by using the gettext translation files. You can put a "user" file here: __CA_APP_DIR__.'/locale/user/[en_US|en_AU]/messages.mo

Good Day, Have you changed anything in 1.7 for media representation upload. External apps all seem to be in place and permissions set but clicking on upload results in no activity or messages?

What "upload" button are you talking about? Uploading media works okay for me in develop

The little orange button next to the browse box. e.g browse for file you get the file name selected but no upload.

Can't do much with a local file path on your computer unfortunately :-)

Sorry my mistake - I think this is a similar problem to the one where I did not have a collectiveaccess/workspace directory. It seems as though I also need to create an /image directory as well. I will try this and get back to you.

Ok There was no images folder in media/collectiveaccess/. I created one and set permissions but trying to upload now gives an error saying permission for /tilepics are not correct so I will add this folder and see what happens (uploading a jpeg)
Ok adding /tilepics has solved the problem .

Hmm, the installer should have created all of those subdirectories when you set up the system

Maybe I got something wrong on this side, like using old setup.php or conf files. If it's ok by you just leave it until you release 1.7 meanwhile if I have any further similar problems I'll do a complete clean reinstall.
